I am currently working on an article which looks at ‘why bleaching has increased among Ghanaian entertainers’ and over the last few days, I’ve spoken to several Ghanaian celebrities—and somehow, the issue of Yvonne Nelson kept creeping into our conversations.
Without holding back, 7 of our top Ghanaian Celebrities (both men and women) stated and CONFIRMED that actress-Yvonne Nelson has tampered with her skin. Interestingly, when I pushed them to wall by saying, why don’t you tell her? Many answered; who am I to tell her? Do you think she does not know what she is doing?
And if you care to know, these celebrities who stately emphatically that Yvonne Nelson has no doubt tampered with her skin (through either bleaching or whitening) include 3 of the Js—I mean those with their first names starting with the letter ‘J’ and many of them have repeatedly work and continue to be seen with Yvonne Nelson.
To an extent, I understand these celebrities when they say they cannot openly or in secret speak to Yvonne Nelson about her skin tampering which has become a key media subject other the last few years. But to another extent, it seems like they are being what we know ourselves as Ghanaians to be—-hypocrites and gossip. Behind her, we can admit and emphatically say the truth but when it matters most, such as saying it as it is or condemning the obvious, we go into hiding.
