Andre Ayew And Christian Atsu Make 50 Man Shortlist For African Player Of The Year Award
Andre Ayew and Christian Atsu are the only Ghanaians to make it onto the fifty man list for the African player of the year award for 2015.
The two wingers, who appear for Swansea City and Bournemouth respectively in the English Premier League, both make the list after their heroics at the last African Cup of Nations, where they helped Ghana finish second. Atsu was adjudged the overall best player of the entire tournament.

Manchester City’s Yaya Toure has once again been named Confederation of African Football African Footballer of the Year—this is his fourth winning in four years in a row.
Yaya Toure’s nomination came after helping Ivory Coast qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and also after playing a central role in winning the Premier League and League Cup at his club.
In winning the CAF footballer of the year, Toure, 31 beat off the challenge of Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.
Cameroonian footballer-Samuel Eto’o has also won the African Footballer of the Year award four times but his achievement was not in a row.

Yaya Toure was up against fellow Ivorian Didier Drogba, of Galatasaray, and Nigeria and Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi.
According to BBC;
Toure, 30, emulates Abedi Pele and Samuel Eto’o with a hat-trick of wins…
Ghanaian Abedi Pele won three in a row between 1991-93 while Cameroonian Eto’o took the award from 2003-05.
Toure may not have won a major trophy for club and country last year but his class has shone through at both domestic level and for the Elephants of Ivory Coast.
He was honoured at a ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria, on Thursday.
Toure’s form also led to him being the only African to be included on the 23-man shortlist for Fifa’s World Player of the Year.
