It’s the birthday of one of Ghana’s most cerebral musicians, Wanlov da Kubolor.
The unconventional and controversial musician has been tabling well wishes on social media, and has also received one from a cherished source, his little sister Debbie.
So basically, every pastor in this country is smart except Wanlov’s dad.
The more controversial half of the Fokn Bois, Wanlov the Kubolor, has dismissed his father’s intellectual powers, saying he is not a smart pastor because he never cheats his congregation out of their money.
Wanlov Da Kubolor recently spoke in an interview detailing some of the rappers he likes most on the local scene, and whilst he mentioned damned near everyone’s name, he decided to single out one guy for not so much praise.
According to the Fokn Bois artiste, D-Black’s music is nothing to write home about. However, like most people who denigrate D-Black’s non-existent music talent, he went on to add that his business acumen is definitely on point.
Wanlov has made courting controversy an habit, and a very satisfying one at that.
You see, he’s not your typical Ghanaian public figure who would make the right noises about God in public, but then live real rotten lives behind the curtains. Wanlov is too real to do that, and Ghanaians generally cannot handle non conformist opinions.
Wanlov The Kubolor loves courting controversy and also getting under the skin of others.

Kubolor, who has over and over again proven his level of consciousness, went on another anti-God anti-Christian rant during an interview.
The Fokn Bois star said God is unsure of himself, and called the Bible an old newspaper.
One thing about religious people is that they always look for the other, the outsider who can personify their great enemy, ‘the devil’. because they always love to stay in a state of perpetual warfare with the enemy, as religious texts teach.
Often what religious people miss is non religious people like playing to that bias. Take the Satanic Temple in the US, who have been fighting tooth and nail to have a monument to Satan set up. Their ideals and actions point towards a secular movement fighting the undue influence of religion in the public sphere, but the use of Satan is a powerful metaphor to challenge the prejudices of the Christians they’re fighting.

The 41st Moers International Jazz festival organized by Music Meeting saw the current New York scene represented again starting with Andrew D’Angelo and his DNA Big Band; there were some interesting contributions from all over Europe, the dance and concert sensation of Latin America in the form of the Afro-Cuban All Stars.
The new “African Dance Nights” at Bollwerk and the “Heimatabend” with Helge Schneider on the fourth day of the festival.
A total of four fringe projects complement the main programme, taking the festival out of the festival tent and into venues all round the town. The “morning sessions”, curated this year by Achim Tang, the “night sessions”, a celebration of Cologne’s new generation of jazz musicians, and the “concerts in the dark”, whose theme this year was “hidden currents”, the moers festival 2012 featured two new “African Dance Nights” on Saturday 27th May and Sunday28th May, where young DJs and musicians from Ghana and Kenya present the music currently being played in the clubs of the African metropolises: raw, up to date and very danceable.
To celebrate Ghana’s Independence Day on the 6th of March, ChO will be honoring this great country, in style.
The Gold Coast achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1957, becoming the First sub-Saharan African nation to do so from European Colonialism. Ghana is now seen as a bastion and initiator of independence and democracy and, therefore, a role model for other African countries.
