The nominees list for the 2016 African Academy Movie Awards (AMAA) have been released, and ‘The Cursed Ones’ leads the way with an unparalleled thirteen nominations.
The nominations for the Nana Obiri Yeboah directed film, starring our own Ama K. Abebrese, come straight on the heels of its recent win at the Helsinki African Film Festival; and promises to continue a streak of award wins for the movie.

Nana Obiri Yeboah’s second feature film ‘The Cursed Ones’, which starred Ama K. Abebrese- has picked up another award for its challenging story.
The movie was awarded the Jury Award for “Human Rights and Social Commentary” at the Helsinki African Film Festival (HAFF), which is currently ongoing in the Finish capital.
