The needless decision to construct a National Cathedral with a huge donation of prime Accra real estate has just gotten more expensive for the people of Ghana even though everyone keeps assuring us that it’s not government that is paying for the cathedral.
According to documents sighted by myjoyonline, the piece of land being cleared by government to host the building has on it a private IT firm who stands to make mega losses if moved at such short notice and are thus calling on government to pay millions of dollars before they surrender their land.

Yet another scandal has hit the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), the company that struggles to pay pensioners but has $72m to spend on a useless software.
SSNIT spent Ghc 79m to purchase pocket diaries in 2016.

The former head of IT at SSNIT, Dr Caleb Afaglo, who was removed from the institution after he was found to have gotten his job via use of fake degrees, says the entire scandal and his subsequent removal is the result of a political witchhunt.
Speaking through his lawyer, Afaglo said his qualifications and competencies have never been questioned throughout his career at numerous institutions – yet the NPP coming to power has immediately changed all that.

The bravest human who ever lived – as we call him on this site – Dr Caleb Afaglo, has defended his academic degrees in the light of reports that they are all fake.
Afaglo has responded to reports over his fake degrees, telling Starrfmonline that his PhD isn’t fake and that the only problem is that the institution he got it from later closed down.
