Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Ocquaye, has refused a call by Amnesty International for homos*xuality to be decriminalized in Ghana.
According to the Speaker, legalization of homos*xuality would lead us on a slippery slope down a path where bestiality and other vices would be legalized under the banner of ‘human rights’.

The issue of gay rights is one that inflames passions among Ghanaians to quite an insane level. Both religiously and culturally, Ghanaians have been conditioned to hate the homos*xual with every fibre of their being.

The majority in Parliament approved the minister designate for Gender, Otiko Djaba, Tuesday night despite the minority abstaining from the vote in protest.

The NDC claimed the candidate was not qualified due to some inflammatory comments she passed against former President Mahama as well as not doing her national service, but the majority brushed aside those concerns.
