Bawumia stated that “he was shocked when it was revealed to him that President John Mahama’s administration awarded the contract for the construction through a non-competitive bidding (sole sourcing), reports GraphicOnline.
Speaking at Good Corporate Governance Initiative forum in Accra on Tuesday, Bawumia said: “Very importantly, we want to ensure the strict enforcement of the public procurement Act, Act 663, it is an Act that in my opinion and in the opinion of many, has really been abused recently, the resort to sole-sourcing of contracts has been more the rule rather than the exception.”
In a statement signed by the Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the president expressed his dissatisfaction on the general conduct of the NPP supporters following the declaration by the EC chair.

President John Mahama says people should not fall got the lies of the NPP–and that his government has improved the lives of Ghanaians tremendously, such that several NPP National Youth Organizers have been able to even marry.

President John Dramani Mahama must really be a bold man to claim that Ghana is leading the United States in infrastructure–and we are talking about the same United States that gives Ghana a lot of aid and grant to help with our poor infrastructure.
President Mahama who is campaigning in the Upper West Region ahead of the 7 December polls said the two leading candidates in the just-ended American presidential election – Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump – promised to sink a lot of investment into infrastructural development during their campaigns.
Mr Mahama told party supporters; “The American elections have just ended. Both candidates, a central plank of their economic policy is to invest massively in social and economic infrastructure. And if we have started that in Ghana already, it means we are one step ahead of the United States.”
Senior journalist and political commentator-Kwesi Pratt Jr, has commended President Mahama over the recently commissioned Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra–saying, it’s the biggest ever.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, Mr. Pratt said:
“Lack of traffic flow results in an estimated loss of about 100 million dollars per annum to our national economy…This is the longest flyover and the highest in West Africa…please note I said flyover, the longest bridge is in Lagos, Nigeria but the longest and highest flyover is in Accra, Ghana.”
President John Dramani Mahama will today commission Accra’s newly built GH₵320.2 Million Kwame Nkrumah Interchange with colourful lights on full display–but not every Ghanaians is impressed.
On Facebook, several Ghanaians questioned why the commissioning will be done at night–with some replying that the night would allow the government to beautify the interchange with colorful lights to ‘fool’ Ghanaians.
Kwame Karikari wrote on Facebook: “This is beautiful but guess what, it is NEON LIGHTS—- let’s learn to demand what is profound from the people we choose to lead us.”
President John Mahama has stated that if the opposition New Patriotic Party claims his administration has collapsed the NPP instituted National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) scheme, then the party should stop registering its members.
Obviously, President Mahama has missed the conversation–let’s say the indictment.
While addressing a mini-rally at Kade in the Eastern Region on Tuesday as part of his campaign tour of the region, President Mahama said among other things that, NPP is registering its members onto the scheme though they claim it has collapsed.
According to a member of the New Patriotic Party’s communications team-Hopeson Adorye, Ghana’s President John Mahama is a “drunkard” who cannot speak without the help of a whisky.
Mr. Adorye made the outrageous claim while addressing ecstatic NPP supporters at Akyem Oseim in the Eastern Region over the weekend during the campaign launch of the party’s candidate for Abuakwa North constituency, Gifty Twum Ampofo
Hopeson Adorye is reported to have said among other things that, “President Mahama has become addicted to alcohol to the extent that he even drinks on his job to the glare of the public.”
“Now the man [President Mahama] has turned drunkard,” he stated.
A video which surfaced online a few days ago showed President Mahama giving out what seems like money to at least two people during his recent campaign visit to the Abossey Okai market in Accra.
Though many people from President Mahama’s government such as Chief of State-Julius Debrah have said the President was rather giving out leaflets and not cash, Kofi Adams, the National Campaign Coordinator of the NDC has said the President is free to give out money to whoever he wants as a Ghanaian.
Now, Daily Guide newspaper is reporting that sources close to the President have admitted President Mahama has given out money during his campaign tour in Accra and Sunyani, but these are acts of pure kindness and not to bribe voters.
