Let me begin by stating that anybody who missed Saturday’s musical concert that was put together by these three strong brands – Hennessy, Starr FM, and Empire Entertainment – has got nobody to blame aside him/herself.
With a fully charged atmosphere filled with Africa’s premium musicians, what more was expected from the organizers than an exhilarating show. If there’s any word that can be used to describe the Hennessy Artistry Concert, that word is ‘superb’. Yes indeed, the show was superb. You know why? The subsequent paragraphs will answer that.
Performances
If there’s something that makes an entertainment show interesting, then it has to do with the impressive performances exhibited by the entertainers. This was not far from what was experienced at the Hennessy Artistry Concert.
I have not for once had the opportunity to watch South Africa’s music group-Mafikizolo (of Khona fame), perform live on stage before. By kind courtesy of Hennessy, Star FM, and Empire Entertainment, this was made possible.
Even though it was the group’s first ever performance in Ghana, they were able to outshine the rest of the artistes billed for the night with regards to their splendid stage act (something that I will write about in a different piece comparing it to the stage acts of Ghanaian musicians).
Experience, they say, is the best teacher. Experience coupled with hardwork, I say, is the key to success. If there are musicians who have over the years gained experience in the music industry, 2face Idibia is undoubtedly one of them.
He proved why he is a genius in the music terrain on the night. The kind of acts put on a display was so touching, knowing exactly when to connect emotionally with the audience, and how to blend different songs together.
