S*x is a needless taboo subject in Ghana which has to be demystified and made into an everyday topic like everything else.
Aside from eating and breathing there’s perhaps no physiological human need which is satisfied more than the one for s*x, yet we like to pretend it’s something not to be talked about, but rather shoved into a dark cupboard and never touched, because even talking about it would make you ‘dirty’.
Aside the fact that many actresses over 30 in Ghana remain unmarried, a lot of them being ‘born ones’ or professional ashawobrities, many of the actors are also womanizing bachelors. That bachelor pool has been thinning recently, first with John Dumelo walking down the aisle and now Eddie Nartey being the latest to join.

She’s been around forever but Pascaline Edwards still looks as evergreen as ever, even as ‘celebrities’ far younger than her fail to maintain their beauty. The veteran actress reinvents herself every few years and thus manages to keep herself fresh in the eyes of the public.
Today is the birthday of beautiful actress Beverly Afaglo and perhaps the sweetest message she’s gotten is from veteran actress Pascaline Edwards.
Edwards, in a post on Instagram, showers praise on the actress she calls a ‘true gem’ who is ‘so real’, and not a fake friends like people in showbiz tend to be.
Actress Pascaline Edwards made her name back in the 90’s, back when the brash youth of today where nothing but bawling babies.
Today Maame Akua Banks, Moesha Boduong and the likes are those driving the social media conversation, whilst evergreen stars like Edwards are left in the cold.
I grew up watching Pascaline Edwards in movies as a beautiful, assertive young lady. As a young man myself now, Edwards looks every inch as stunning as my little brain remembers her to be.
That’s despite her just turning 47 – the actress has been anticipating the milestone on social media the past few days and its finally here – March 28, 2017.
It is often said that age is just a number and you only age if and only if you decide to age and from all angles, that is quite true. Actress Pascaline Edwards may have clocked 40 and beyond but she can confidently own up to one flattering body.
Actress-Pascaline Edwards has been MIA for a long time on the movie scene—she has been doing some acting but nothing worth that big media attention. Time and things change…right? Gone are the days when Pascaline Edwards was a household name, scoring all the big movie roles. Today, she says, she is on a journey of ‘Rediscovering’ … Read more
Last Friday (5th December, 2014) was the premiere of the much anticipated movie – Shattered Romance – directed by Eddie Nartey and produced by Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim. The attendance, though not outnumbering the total capacity of the cinema halls, was impressive and overwhelming; about 400% increase over her first produced movie.
Before I delve into the movie itself to discuss the ups and downs, let me briefly chip in the observations of some people I interviewed after the movie was screened.
The aggregate views of the attendees with regards to the movie were interesting. So far as all humans cannot be pleased equally, there were some concerns raised. Majority saw it as a nice try and a great improvement upon her (Juliet Ibrahim) first production – Number One Fan – of which I totally concur and commend her for such an effort. The few who nit-picked it did so on the grounds of the movie not been too challenging (a mark of almost all Ghanaian movies).
Now, let me quickly list some facets of the movie and talk about them.
Quality
It is a recognizable trait among several Ghanaian movie producers to churn out sub-standard movies. In an era where cost of production is expensive, some movie producers’ wish not to spend much on the quality of movies they produce. It is therefore necessary to take time and extol the very few who pay attention to the quality of their productions.
Hitting the nail right on the head, the storyline was amazing. Being somewhat a newcomer in the game with regards to script writing and directing, much cannot be said than to praise him (Eddie Nartey) for his exertion.
After the success of her first self-produced move-Number One Fan, Ghanaian actress turned producer, Juliet Ibrahim has been at work, putting together her latest production-Shattered Romance.
Directed by Eddie Nartey, the movie features veteran actor-Fred Amugi, James Gardiner, Sonia Ibrahim, Juliet Ibrahim, Pascaline Edwards and others.

In other news, Juliet Ibrahim was recently interviewed by US based Black Enterprise magazine and have some photos for the fans from the interview.
Veteran actress, Pascaline Edwards, has revealed that she once had a deep kiss with her cousin.
Pascaline made this strange revelation when she was interviewed on ETV’s Late Night Celebrity Show last night – Friday 7th Feb, 2014. On the said programme, the issue of kissing came up into their discourse.
It was at that point that Pascaline Edward revealed that she kisses very well and that she once kissed her own cousin. How possible? The host of the show asked, only for Pascaline to reveal that her cousin is celebrated actor, Majid Michel.
“So far I’ve kissed two men passionately in movies, Fiifi Coleman and my cousin Majid Michel” Pascaline revealed. Asked how she did it and felt at it, Pascaline said ‘well, I kissed him well but it is not real. The viewer sees it very real but to me, as much as it was very deep, I felt nothing” Pascaline added.
Pascaline also went further to disclose that her husband does not mind her kissing in movies. She said if the husband finds her kissing in movies offensive, they wouldn’t have been able to marry for 10 years now. ‘I did it for the money. Why, because he is my relative I shouldn’t have done it? It’s my job!” Pascaline concluded.
It looks like 2014 is going to be a very stimulating, fun-packed as well as competitive year for the Ghana Movie industry. Although, the year is young, we are aware of a lot of good and quality productions which are coming out soon. There are also a good number of great movies coming out in the month of February which will present so many options for African movie lovers.
One of such interesting movies titled-Any more women? will be premiered at the National Theatre on 8th February, 2014. Not only does the movie’s title strike as interesting but the poster gives a very suggestive and flattering outlook of the movie. In any case if the team was trying to wet our appetite with that flattering picture of the lead actor then I must confess they just did.
Although the movie is from a new production house called GISIM Studios. The production, we are told promises to be worth every watching second…
‘Any more women?’ is directed by Oheneba Acheampong, written by Kofi Safo Ntim, produced by Larko Djabatey- Yirenkye with support from Ken Fiati. The movie ensembles a host of seasoned actors like Fifi Coleman, Prince David Osei, Ebi Bright, Ken Fiati, and Timothy Bentum and attract veteran actors-Fred Amugi, Pascaline Edwards and Albert Jackson-Davies
