Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Djaba, who rocks a Rihanna-inspired crazy ‘Skrillex’ hair style–admired by some and criticised by others, has said her critics are just jealous.

Though her hairstyle is not totally alien to Ghana, no high ranking public figure has ever given Ghanaians such a crazy hair style and therefore, she has come under attacks for rocking what many consider as inappropriate for her office.

The 55-year old woman whose hairstyle fits that of an 18-year-old recently told JOY Fm that, those attacking her looks are just being mischievous.

She said: “It is the propaganda of my opponents. They wish they could have my hairstyle. They wish their wives could have my hairstyle. You have to be confident about how you look and I am very confident about how I look and I am okay with it. The day I want to wear a headscarf, I will. If I decide to change my hair, it is my choice but not because of somebody else. And that is what we need to understand. Diversity is okay in Ghana.”
