The pit which collapsed and fell on some miners in the Western Region has now been utilised as their final resting place as authorities give up rescue efforts.
Five days after the pit collapse, rituals has been carried out to commit the soul of the dead, and their bodies would be left in the pit as their burial ground.

Residents of Nsuta in the Western Region of Ghana where a mine recently collapsed and killed 17 people, have revealed that a fetish priest in the area warned the miners not to use that particular pit.
Residents spoken to by the Daily Guide revealed the galamseyers had been warned but they failed to heed to the advice, leading to their eventual demise.
