The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, says it is the dream of President John Dramani Mahama to see him pass on so he and the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) can cling on to power for a third time since that will be the only way to help turn things around for the NDC administration after eight years of failure in government

Nana Addo said this on Sunday, when he was addressing party supporters at a rally in the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga.

“First they said I was a drug addict, it didn’t work. They said I was sick. It didn’t work. They said I was too old. It didn’t work. They said I was a hunchback. It didn’t work. They said I was a dwarf. It didn’t work. They said I was in a wheelchair. I didn’t work. They said I am a murderer. It didn’t work. They said I will die in June. It didn’t work. They said I was a dictator. It didn’t work. They said I was intolerant. It didn’t work. They said I was violent. It didn’t work. They said I had a secret agenda to destabilize the country. It didn’t work. Now, they say I have cancer. It will not work,” Nana Addo said.

Nana Akufo Addo Says No Court Case, No False Declaration In 2016

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Whether Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will return as the 2016 presidential candidate for the NPP or not—no one seems to be sure, including himself. But one thing Nana Addo is sure about is that,  2016 election needs to be well watched by party supporters…

According to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, court cases can be prevented if party members take up the responsibility and challenge to ensure that no one has a yard to cheat or rig the election…

According to The Stateman;

The 20112 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has reminded the leadership and membership of the party about the responsibility they have to make sure that in 2016 “we don’t have a court case or a false declaration.

In an apparent reference to the election petition that challenged the declaration of John Dramani Mahama as winner of the 2012 elections, Nana Akufo-Addo admonished his party faithful to ensure the ballot is protected in 2016 while making sure that the right declaration of the winner is made by the Electoral Commissioner to forestall any challenge of the declaration in the law courts.

He gave the advice when he delivered a speech at dinner organized by the Young Executive Forum in London.

According to Nana Addo, “It is clear that our opponents are good at being declared winners of elections but are bad at governing our nation. It means that whatever it takes, we have to make sure that at the next election, not only do we win it but are actually declared the winners. That is the responsibility before us.”
