During the 2016 election campaign, Mzbel — real name — Nana Akua Amoah — did not only endorsed President Mahama and the NDC but she also went further to denigrate, mock and insult the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo. I have always maintained that even though I do not have a vote, as a left-wing democrat, my political ideologies resonate well with the New Patriotic Party and therefore if I were to vote in the 2016 presidential elections, I would have voted for Nana Akufo Addo. Beyond my accentuated political ideological position, for the simple fact that the President Mahama-led NDC administration incessantly without apology and any sense of urgency took Ghanaians for granted—somewhat thinking Ghanaians are inherently stupid was enough for me or any reasonable person to vote against them. The Electoral Commission of Ghana has become a snail institution in the last 24 hours in declaring the results, making it impossible to decipher the official positions of the two main contenders of the election-Nana Akufo Addo and John Dramani Mahama. But multiple credible independent sources have been filling in the gap with figures that reasonably project an overwhelming win for Nana Addo and the NPP. It’s therefore safe, perhaps even true, to conclude that Nana Akufo Addo has finally buried the arrogant dead goat who held this insane misconception that Ghanaians have short memories and therefore decided to commission almost all his developmental projects a few weeks to the elections in an attempt to beat them with his demagoguery political game. Ghanaians, even if temporary sane have shocked President Mahama and the NDC whose abuse of incumbency at some point sent shivers down the bones of many supporters of the NPP. With countless ‘JM Toaso’ billboards across the country and the non-stop play of NDC’s political adverts on TV and radio, even the staunchest NPP supporter would concede that at a point during the campaign wondered if the elephant was indeed going to be able to push the dead goat into his own dug grave.

In this super hilarious video, the four gentlemen take on the dance floor–and we think Rawlings KILLED it. Check the video out below…
Nana Akufo Addo, NPP’s presidential candidate has stated that he will refund the monies of the DKM’s customers in full when he is voted into office as a president. Speaking at NPP’s mini-rally in the Brong Ahafo region, Nana Addo stated among other things, “I will pay you back in full when I become president.”
The political landscape in Ghana has been swamped with plenty messages, mostly from leading political figures of the ruling NDC and the opposition NPP–and a lot of these messages make no sense. Political parties in Ghana seem to care less about serving the electorates with meaningful campaign messages, based on which they will vote. Instead, they continue to attack each other–and frankly, the NDC leaders have been doing more of this recently. At the campaign launch of the NDC’s candidate for Adentan constituency-Mohammed Adamu Ramadan over the weekend, General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said Nana Akufo Addo is too old to govern the country effectively like President John Mahama.

The New Patriotic Party is currently running on its last fuel: the unhealthy but necessary inside side-lining and the never seen before financial bulwark the party faces continue to have undeniable operational deficiencies on the party’s pre-election activities. It’s true that the democrats are back to the battlefield but they are deeply wounded. There’s no sight of a backup and the unspoken of internal financial blockage has literally slowed the already weakened engines of the party’s campaign trail. But there’s a natural sense of hope—a wounded soldier is usually vicious compared to the healthy well fed. Also, the incumbent government has succeeded in tilting the fight in favour of the near dead elephant with the many wrong turns it has unjustifiably taken with the economy. The unbearable hardship Ghanaians face in itself makes a strong case for the NPP but the truth remains that, nowhere has an incumbent government ever been easily disposed, especially when you have an aggressive politician like President John Dramani Mahama leading a pack of young wolves, running a door to door campaign backed by a somewhat unlimited resource. On the face of things, the odds may seem to be directly in favour of the NPP but the party is still severely struggling to grasp what can really fetch them power—and I mean, a boot to boot campaign with the NDC. Instead of being proactive, the NPP seems to have become a station full of reactors–worrying itself with responses and criticisms of the Mahama government’s conducts even at this stage. For instance, spending a whole week on the issue of President Mahama “sharing” money wouldn’t win the NPP a single vote and neither will it stop the “deadgoat” from doing what he regards as reasonable in these desperate times.
Nana Akufo-Addo, the flagbearer of the opposition NPP has stated that the ruling NDC party is confused–and that the party lacks clarity on the source of ideas for their manifesto. Speaking at a rally in Kasoa on Sunday, Nana Akufo-Addo told the crowd to vote and take Ghana out of the hands of the NDC, a confused political party. He’s quoted to have said: “Something very interesting happened in Sunyai. The NDC went there to launch their manifesto and one of their leaders said it is not true they are copying our policy ideas but rather both parties agreed on what is good for the Ghanaian people and that is why similar ideas are coming up.”
