The Upper East regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Adams Mahama, died in an intra party battle last year, after he was waylaid by assailants who bathed him in acid.
The attack was supposedly led by Gregory Afoko, a brother of suspended NPP Chairman Paul Afoko. Gregory is currently on trial for the murder.

Together with Neat Fm’s Nkrumah Tikesie, the two were the reason the NPP said both station were displaying bias against them and therefore decided to boycott.
