GIFEC Presents Computers To MUSIGA

The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications, GIFEC, has handed over forty five computer units to the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) at a short presentation ceremony in Accra on Friday 7th September 2012.
The ceremony was attended by some of the Executives of the Union, namely Rex Omar, Bessa Simons, Rev. Fiifi Khan, Ahuma Bosco and Tic Tac as well as the immediate past President, Mrs. Diana Hopeson.
In a brief meeting before the presentation, Honorable Kofi Attor, the Administrator and CEO of GIFEC mentioned that music and musicians have huge potential and his company is proud to support the Union in the area of ICT. Aside the computers, he also mentioned the addition of a coloured printer, a scanner and a projector. He went on to add that the items are for MUSIGA offices throughout the country.
A breakdown of the items is as follows: fifteen of the computers will be used to furnish the MUSIGA Resource Center at the National Head Office. The remaining offices throughout the country will get two computers each. The National Head Office will get the remaining items to facilitate in the work of the Union.
Already, the company has installed two air-conditioner units at the Resource Center. They will also be in charge of the installations of all the computers. The fully furnished Resource Center will be launched later next week. Present at the meeting were some Managers of GIFEC.

Over the weekend, at the luxurious African Regent Hotel in Accra, the Ghana DJ Awards was officially launched at a well attended – strictly by invitation- press conference.
Early this year, the news about an Awards ceremony aimed at rewarding Ghanaian DJ’s was received with mixed feelings. The trouble of recognizing the essence of the awards ceremony had nothing to do with its significance rather its seriousness.  Most people who spoke openly about the awards just after the news was made public cited similar awards which did not last its announcement as bases for contemplating on its realness.
Then came in the DJ’s for whom the awards were instituted to reward. Whereas some were excited about the recognition alone, others swept it under the carpet for being another story just to titillate them.

Obour Outlines His Seven-Point-Agenda For Ghanaian Musicians Under His Presidency As MUSIGA President!

Hip life artiste and current National Youth Organiser of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Obour known in real life as Bice Osei Kuffour has finally launched his campaign to seek the high office in MUSIGA.

Obour has since May 2011 showed his readiness in becoming the next president of MUSIGA to change the plight of musicians in the country and also to continue from where current president Diana Hopeson will be leaving off.

Being the youngest in the contest for the MUSIGA presidency, Obour joins veteran musicians like Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Nana Tuffour and Willie Roe with similar ambitions.
