Woyeje has handed in her letter of resignation to her bosses at Adom Fm and her resignation is effective February 1st, 2019.

One man who made life on radio fun and quite frightful in Kumasi in the early 2000’s was Otwinoko. Born Linsford Kwabena Asare but professionally known as Otwinoko is arguably the greatest radio personality ever to steer the console in the Ashanti Region. Asempa FM presenter KABA had received admission to commence his master degree studies a few weeks before his death, it has been revealed. Chief Operating Officer of the Multimedia Group, Kenneth Ansah, revealed whilst speaking at the presenter’s memorial service that he had approached his bosses to inform them about this new challenge he was taking on in his life.
Asempa Fm’s ‘Fire for Fire’ host, Countryman Songo, broke down and wept on Monday as the memorial service of KABA was held. The late ‘Ekosii Sen’ host’s death shocked everyone and his colleagues are visibly struggling to come to terms with it.
Sam George, NDC Parliamentary candidate for Ningo-Prampram, who’s currently suspended from the party, is set to be embroiled in another legal battle, after the Multimedia Group filed a defamation suit against him. Same George had alleged that the Multimedia Group had taken loans from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and GBC; and had failed to pay back either loan.
‘Dumsor Dumsor’ has killed small and medium scale businesses in Ghana and now it seems to have caught up with even the big companies such as multimedia group, the parent company of Joy FM, Adom FM, Hitz FM and Asempa FM and a host of TV and online networks.
According to Multimedia Group, they will not be broadcasting at night (starting from midnight to 4am) again until further notice because of ‘Dumsor Dumsor’—as it’s taking a toll on their alternative power resource to keep on with the usual around the clock broadcast.
Joy FM reports that; “Chief Operating Officer of Accra Radio, Ekyi Quarm, said over the past three months, when a nationwide power rationing exercise started, Multimedia has been digging deep into its finances to sustain normal broadcasts.
“However, it’s gotten to a stage where we can no longer do that. So since last week, we’ve been going off from midnight to 4am. This applies to our operations in Kumasi as well”, he explained.
