Mzbel A little piece of irony about Mensa Otabil’s recent rant against those criticising him is that he has been a great critic of a lot of prominent people throughout his career yet when he encountered some small criticism, he hit back with insults. Former President Mahama can certainly remember a time or two when Mensa Otabil turned his laser eyes on him.
Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah Honestly if this is how men of God behave how do they claim to posses any moral authority to tell anyone else how to live their lives? After Otabil called his critics people who ‘look like insults’, Isaac Owusu Bempah has piled onto those same people, describing them as uncultured, childish and lacking knowledge.
Mensa Otabil The recent collapse of Capital Bank is the work of the devil, who is striking back at God’s people, Pastor Mensa Otabil has opined. The ICGC head pastor has come under severe criticism in recent weeks due to what many deemed as an extortion scheme at the Greater Works conference and then later the collapse of Capital Bank.
Pastor Mensa Otabil Prophet Kumchacha is on the neck of Mensa Otabil following the collapse of Capital Bank, a bank he held shares in and was a board member of. According to the outspoken preacher, Otabil criticized Mahama’s running of a country with 27m people yet he could not even run a ‘small’ bank like Capital Bank.
Pastor Mensa Otabil committed fraud with his greater works ‘special offerings’ and should be arrested by the BNI for it – that’s the analysis of the one and only Prophet Kumchacha. Kumchacha, speaking on Kasapa Fm, expressed disgust with the miracles on offer for cash at the ICGC greater works conference.
Pastor Mensa Otabil Head pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil, says belief is not logical, it goes beyond logic and can reap massive rewards for those who believe. Much has been made about the so-called ‘special offering’ being requested at the ICGC Greater Works conference where one can pay as much as $5,000 for a miracle; and Otabil’s defence is that belief does not make sense in the normal sense of things.
Dr Mensa Otabil has congratulated the ultimate winner at the 2017 VGMA awards, Joe Mettle, on winning the biggest award in Ghana music.
Mettle made history Sunday morning when he became the first gospel act in history to win the Artiste of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Dr Mensa Otabil is on a crusade to persuade Ghanaians not tp eat fufu, the pillar of their lives–and even though the man of God gets away with a lot of his absurd messages, this time, social media folks ain’t having it. Mensa Otabil said Fufu is killing Ghanaians–adding that the process of making it … Read more
Dr Mensa Otabil has been described as a political preacher–others may agree with this and many others many disagree, depending on where a person belongs.
However, when presented with facts, every reasonable person must come to the same conclusion–and this is what we seek to do with this post.
Though Mensa Otabil, the founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) remains one of Ghana’s most respected preachers, he is equally the most confused–and his sermons/messages over the years clearly show this.
In a follow-up sermon, he used the popular Ghanaian fufu dish as an example, saying, eating with hands is not only unhygienic but arguments that eating with your hand is African is completely stupid. He explained that the white man used to eat with his hands too–but time changes and a new better way of eating has emerged in response to the moving time.
The above message denotes brilliance–but it clearly contradicts the sort of logic this same man churns out, most times.
It seems to be taking some people longer to realise the ignorance and chameleon character of Mensa Otabil, who is sadly praised as one of the most intelligent preachers in Ghana.
Over the weekend, Otabil’s chameleon nature was noticed by some Ghanaians on social media–and he became a subject of an interesting conversation, led by Kofi Adoli and others.
Though Adoli, a Ghanaian social media commentator is mostly mischievous, this time, he was just pointing out the obvious–that, Mensa Otabil is no different to the many preachers in Ghana, perhaps the only difference is that he’s a little sophisticated in his methods.
Otabil under the NDC government a few months ago challenged Ghanaians not to become sleeping dogs by just accepted tarred roads and electricity–obviously implying that Ghanaians ought to complain and challenge the government to do more.
There is a problem with hypocrisy deeply embedded within the fabric of most religions, which starts from the process of ‘cherry-picking’ – by which the religious go through their holy books and adhere to some laws and ignore others.
A great example is the Christian attitude to divorce and homo-s*xuality. Jesus ranted and raved about divorce and never mentioned the gays – but Christians, who claim we now live under the ‘grace’ of Jesus, hate gays with a passion yet get divorced themselves all the time with no compunction.
Mensa Otabil And I couldn’t agree more, I mean the fact that I love you does not mean I should stay with you in a relationship that is in enmity with riches or anything that concerns itself with money. The honest and rippling truth is all the goodness, comfort and promises that comes with love can only enter the realms of reality with money— almost always so how then or how can we live without this tangible presence.?
Mensa Otabil Though Matthew 6:24 states that: “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money,” Dr Mensa Otabil seems to say that’s false and money is damn good. Not only that, 1 Timothy 6:10 also states that: “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.” And Hebrews 13:5 says: “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” But speaking on Sunday to his congregation, Mensa Otabil said money is good and anyone who says it isn’t is a liar.
Mensa Otabil Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri, Editor of GhanaCelebrities.Com and BrutallyUncensored.Com has called Mensa Otabil’s sermon delivered yesterday which has received praises from several Ghanaian social media users BOLLOCKS—saying, it’s sad that most people cannot see beyond the smoke screen being presented by the man of God. In a facebook post, Chris-Vincent wrote; “So Mensa Otabil says the only or perhaps the main reason Mark Zuckerberg is richer than every Ghanaian and total Ghana is not because of a brain superiority but it’s solely because of environment. JOY FM reports that; “Otabil feels angry and insulted by the development because Zuckerberg, he reckoned, is not any more intelligent than the thousands of computer programmers in Ghana but the American has a better environment; a country of opportunities. “What is the difference between Zuckerberg and you; Steve Jobs and you? Otabil asked rhetorically. “It is not brains, it is the environment,” he answered sullenly.” On two counts; Otabil is once again talking bollocks but as usual, most people will not think beyond the ridiculous praises. Of course Zuckerberg has a brain superiority than ‘most Ghanaian computer programmers’ and this is evident in the fact that he thought of something most people, including, Americans did not even consider. And he worked hard in making it happen. On an ordinary day, the grey T-shirt wearing dude will rock it with the smartest brains of our time. Secondly, if it is purely because of environment, then my cousin-Tracy born in the same ‘hood’ as Zuckerberg should also have been equally rich. The environment premise and the rich conclusion fall flat on its face considering the fact that several other millions of people were born in America and yet are NOT as rich as Zuckerberg. I believe that even if Mark Zuckerberg was born in Ghana, he would have become who he is today if his brains remained the same—perhaps, it would have been a little difficult but not totally impossible.
