Manny Pacquiao fought a much publicised retirement bout against Timothy Bradley just a few months ago. He then went home and got himself elected into the Filipino senate to serve his people.
But still, it seems he cannot get rid of that itch called boxing.

Nike To Drop Their Sponsorship Of Manny Pacquiao Due To His Anti-Gay Comments
Manny Pacquiao recently generated outrage when he said gay people are worse than animals during a campaign event in his country, The Philippines.
Of course, that ignorant sound bite played very well in the conservative, 80% Catholic country that he comes from- but in the rest of civilisation, homophobia just doesn’t play well.
Manny Pacquaio Reveals Stunning Ignorance By Saying Gays Are Worse Than Animals- Apologises
Manny Pacquaio himself has in the past revealed the depraved life he lived as fame started to sink in, but he’s ‘born again’ now so all that’s moot- and he now has the moral high ground to ‘judge’ others.
Running for a senate seat in his native Philippines, the legendary boxer revealed stunningly ignorant, but perhaps popular views, about gay people in a television interview. Floyd Mayweather Stripped Of ‘Fight Of The Century’ WBO Title Belt
The World Boxing Organisation (WBO) has stripped Floyd Mayweather of his WBO welterweight belt after the champ failed to meet some mandatory obligations.
Mayweather won the belt after beating Manny Pacquiao in the so-called ‘fight of the century’, from which he raked in around $200m for one nights work.
But he has been stripped of the belt he won in that fight by the WBO, after he failed to pay a $200,000 sanctioning fee to the organisation. The deadline for the payment was Friday, and Mayweather’s camp had made no effort to pay up.
Champions are required to pay a portion of their winnings to the organisation, and Mayweather failed to do so.
Floyd Mayweather Is The Highest Earning Athlete Of The Past Year
Half the world probably hates him but Mayweather continues racking up the millions with not a care in the world.
Mayweather fought in the ‘fight of the century’ against Manny Pacquiao and picked up the win and the bigger pay check despite almost everyone protesting the decision. His $100m check from that night helped him to a total of $300m and made him the highest earning athlete of the past 12 months.
Mayweather tops the list for the 3rd time in four years, and his $300m comfortably breaks the previous record of $115m set by Tiger Woods in 2008.
Forbes compiled the list of the highest earning athletes, and Mayweather’s opponent Pacquiao finished 2nd with $160m. The magazine’s calculations constituted earnings figures including all salaries, prize money and bonuses paid out between June 1, 2014, and June 1, 2015.
The top 10 breakdown by sport involved two boxers, two footballers, a tennis star, three basketball players and two golfers.

Manny Pacquiao Hit With Class Action Suit By Disgruntled Fans
With the hits both boxers are facing, looks like the aftermath of the fight of the century is a lot more than exciting than the fight itself.
Pacquiao is already in trouble with athletics officials for failing to disclose his injury before the fight, whilst Mayweather is being sued for $20m. In another piece of trouble for the Pacman, two fans are taking him to court in a potential class action suit.
The two fans, Staphane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran, have filed papers in US District Court in Nevada alleging consumer fraud. According to New York Daily News, they are seeking a class action on behalf of “potentially hundreds of thousands of ticket purchasers and persons who wagered on the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight…which were victimised by defendants failure to disclose and to cover up the injuries of defendant Pacquiao”
Manny Pacquiao In Hot Water Over Injured Shoulder Claim
Despite being totally outclassed by the ‘Money Man’, Manny Pacquiao came out to give an excuse for why he lost. He injured his shoulder in the run up to the fight.
Now it looks like he would have been better off keeping his mouth shut. As the initial report shows, Pacman notified Anti-doping authorities about the injury and the need for a shot to dull it.
However, Nevada Athletic Commission Officials denied the boxer the shot, as they had no documentation proving any injury, and taking the shot would actually make matters worse in the long run.
The Big Preview: Floyd Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquiao | All You Need to Know + The Verdict
In a little under 24 hours the richest fight in boxing history would go down. It pits the best pugilists of this generation against each other, two bona fide future hall of famers.
The narratives surrounding this fight are just crazy. It’s one that has been half a decade in the making, which the masses have clamouring for but that somehow never materialised- until now.
It’s not just a clash of boxing styles, but a clash of worlds. Pacquiao is the ultimate aggressor, a relentless combination of speed, agility, and power. Mayweather is the consummate defender, the best this sport has ever seen. If he was a football team he’d be the quintessential Mourinho team.
Pacquiao is the laid back persona, a genuine good guy, humanitarian, politician, God-fearing. Mayweather is the stereotypical bad guy, brash, ostentatious, arrogant, been in trouble for domestic violence in the past.
