Our earlier assertion that the much maligned dumsor is back and back for good has been confirmed by Deputy Minister of Power, John Jinapor who says the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will make public the new timetable for the ongoing load shedding in the country.
Ghana’s Load Shedding Committee as today said that load shedding is over—and that the country has not witnessed any load shedding in the last one month and is enjoying power supply in excess of about 6%.
Of course, we’ve had several dumsor within this period the committee mentioned, however, there seem to be this confusion as to whether dumsor and load shedding are the same thing or not.
The Chairman of the Load shedding Management Committee and CEO of the Gahan Grid Network (GRIDCO) William Amuna at a press briefing on Wednesday in Accra attributed the achievement to the coming on stream of a number of power generation plants.
