The former UBS banker, Kweku Adoboli has been deported from the United Kingdom to Ghana after his legal battle not to be deported was unsuccessful.
Kweku Adoboli says he is happy to be home but still lamenting over how he was deported ─describing it as undignified manner!
Kweku Adoboli is a Ghanaian born UK investment banker who has become world famous after his illegal trading led to losses of approximately $2.3bn.
Adoboli, formerly of UBS, was tried for fraud, found guilty and then sentenced to 7 years in prison in 2012.
Kweku Adoboli is a 35 year old Ghanaian who has been outside the country since he was four years old, grew up mainly in the Middle East, and has stayed in Britain for 23 years without ever becoming a citizen.
He was also convicted in 2012 of financial fraud, after causing the biggest unauthorised trade loss in UK history, whilst working for Swiss bank UBS. It was a trial that earned him the name ‘rogue trader’.
