First of all, I would like to apologise to anyone who I have offended with my KKD defence tactics since the alleged KKD rape case saga emerged and importantly to you; because I commented on several of your articles rubbishing a possibility that Kwesi Kyei Darkwah could have rapped the 19 year old.
At that time, I thought I was right and the position I held was based on available information. What I did wrong then was the fact that, I did not leave any room for scepticism and I mean, I did not allow myself to think that, such a fine gentleman could have done so to a young woman.
I think my utmost respect for the man and his achievements clouded my judgement to the extent that I couldn’t bring myself to consider any possibility that he could have done what was being alleged.
But in the last few days and having come across new information, I have changed my mind. I am not saying for sure he did what is being alleged since it’s not in my position to pronounce such judgement—but I have changed the certain nature of my position and today, I believe; he could have done it.
From the new information of the 19 year old girl being a virgin to KOD (another one) being in the room and having somehow increased the volume of a television set to prevent the struggles and screams of the young girl being heard—it seems there was a rape.
From what the charge sheet told us; KKD met the girl at the African Regent Hotel where he claimed he was due to host an event. He then invited the girl-Ewuraeffe Orleans Thompson and her cousin to join him and his cousin in his hotel room—specifically, he asked the girl to help fix his make-up (face powder) as the event he was going to host was going to be aired on TV.
According to the girl, when they got into the hotel suit, they were offered some drinks which they turned down—and after they sat down, KKD called her to the bathroom to help with the fixing of his make-up. It was there that she was raped.
KKD has accepted that indeed he had ‘seks’ with this 19 year old in the bathroom but it was consensual—so it was not rape.
I am back and if you do not like it, just get the hell out of my way—because we definitely need to use of you for experiments in the laboratory, you are no difference from mice when it comes to your abilities to evaluate situations and come to establish the truth.
Despite how strange it is that a 50 year old man met a girl as young as 19, capable of being his daughter at a hotel—and instantly decided to want to have seks with her and in fact proceeded to do so, many still seem to believe, KKD did nothing wrong.
Of course he did nothing wrong because many of those defending his actions and failing to take a minute to consider the stories of the various women themselves are no different from KKD—our streets are full of old dirty bast*rds who prey on little girls like hawks.
For Christ sake, which reputable level headed man will meet a young girl at a hotel, take the girl together with her cousin and his cousin into his hotel room—and while there, go to have seks with this newly met girl in the bathroom? Even if you are one of those acute mentally constipated douchebags who believe the girl was not raped, what do you make out of this man’s behaviour, lack of self respect and morals?
The only thing that stops most men from breaking the law or raping women is self respect, morals and decent behaviour—what KKD claims to have happened that night lacks any of these elements and therefore, what makes anyone think he did not rape the girl as she claims or he is not capable of doing so?
When it comes to smart but foolish se*ual predators like KKD, they buy into this conception of delusion fuelled by fame and the stupidity of some people who have no heads to think—therefore would support them no matter what. These predators use some sort of arrogance, self-obsession and several cunning traits like being the finest to cloud the judgement of those who may see through the smoke—and at the same time, to prey on their victims. Notably, predators like KKD starts lying to themselves about their actions that there is nothing wrong with what they are doing—and eventually begin to believe in their own lies.
And if it happens that this ODBs live in societies like Ghana where se*ually abused victims are never the true victims but become the culprits; then they will ride on the insensitivity and stupidity of the society to perpetuate their acts. Because, the victims cannot even go out and say it—the society will slam them, call them all sorts of names and come up with dumb arguments that a man running to the toilet would not even make, just to discredit these women victims.
A young girl by name Dela Goldheart on facebook has shared her encounter with KKD–suggesting that, she can identify with the 19 year old girl KKD is accused of raping.
According this girl, KKD seems to have some weird fetish with young girls with height and when she met KKD some time back under KKD’s request, his first question went straight to her height.
She seems to suggest in her write up that, she was a little more smart with her choices which probably saved her from ‘rape’ or any sexual assault from KKD.
Yesterday, a photo of a certain girl was being circulated on social media as the 19 year old girl KKD is alleged to have raped—a case which has landed KKD (Kwesi Kyei Darkwa) in police cells. But it later emerged that was not the girl contrary to the social media speculations… It seems we have … Read more
According to reports, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Police Command, ASP Afia Tenge stated last night that even though KKD is being held for allegedly ‘sexually assaulting somebody’ he has not been formally charged yet.
Let’s take note of the police’s use of the phrase ‘sexually assaulting somebody’ and media reports usage of the same phrase or the other ‘allegedly raping a girl’. When it comes to most people, rape is a sexual assault—and as such, they use the two words interchangeably though legally, they have different and specific meanings.
So the usage of the ‘sexually assaulting somebody’ by the police does not mean, we do not have a rape allegation on our hands as others are saying—it could just be that people are not using these words in their strict legal forms such as how we mostly use assault when we are technically or specifically referring to battery…
ASP Afia Tenge told CitiFm yesterday that, “He [KKD’ is being held for allegedly assaulting somebody sexually. He has not been charged now for any offence, till we get preliminary evidences or material to prosecute him according to the charges that will be proffered against him depending on the evidence that we get.”
When it comes to rape, it is always one person saying the sex was consensual and the other saying it was not—mostly the woman takes the latter stand and the man the former.
KKKD is reported to have asked when the police visited the crime scene that; if he indeed raped the 19 year old girl as she claims, why didn’t she scream for anyone to hear her? Legally, this is a stupid question but in our Ghanaian setting, most people seem to think rape comes out of struggles or using force.
But if you put a woman under duress to secure her consent for sex or force her in anyway (though she did not scream) that still may amount to rape. Screaming or fighting back is the indicator of whether rape took place or not—rather whether the woman granted the needed consent.
