The Kintampo Waterfalls in the Brong Ahafo regions, one of the nation’s premiere tourist destinations, has been closed down indefinitely.
The decision has been taken in the wake of the recent disaster which led to the deaths of nearly two dozen people and left many others injured.
Tragedy continues to develop out of the already dreadful Kintampo waterfall accident as the driver of an ambulance conveying some critically injured victims to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital died in an accident.
The driver passed away after the ambulance he was driving rammed into a stationary vehicle whilst rushing the wounded for further treatment at the referral facility.

Speaking on Asempa Fm Monday after the tragedy, the Kyeremankohene of Kintampo, Nana Effa Guakro, said the youth in the area have been warned numerous times to desist from such acts since it angers the river gods, but said they simply disregarded the orders.
