The finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, presented the 2017 budget statement to Parliament earlier today (Thursday, March 2).
The budget, the first under the Nana Akufo-Addo administration, has been dubbed the ‘Asempa’ budget by supporters and is aimed at cutting taxation and unleashing economic growth.
Ken Ofori-Atta, Finance Minister-designate says the governing New Patriotic Party would not put the country in the when the affairs of the economy is on the table.
“I feel we need to know the truth and it is because of the truth that they [Ghanaians] voted for us,” he told Joy News’ Flagstaff House Correspondent, Elton Brobbey Tuesday.
