The founder and leader of the Glorious Wave Church International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, has threatened to carry out a spiritual coup in Ghana if the government does not stop destroying the businesses of Ghanaians.
According to Badu Kobi, Akufo-Addo promised to run a government friendly to businesses, instead all they have done is destroy businesses owned by people they don’t like, such as Nana Appiah Mensah.
Let’s play a game. If you ask 100 Ghanaians to list their five topmost priorities in the country, how many of them do you believe, in this current climate, would list construction of a national cathedral amongst their top ten uses of taxpayer money?
If this issue was not raised by government no one would even be thinking about it, and yet here we are, our official budget statement for the year makes provision for the National Cathedral Ghanaians were explicitly told would not involve taxpayer money.
There are many rituals we go through with in this country which has little to no discernible effect on the lives of Ghanaians but which everyone loves to have anyway.
Almost 30 years after multiparty democracy returned to Ghana in 1992, very little has changed to make the lives of Ghanaians more tolerable and to keep the standard of living high enough for the majority.
Since the inception of the 1992 constitution of Ghana and the general acceptance of multiparty democracy in this country, general elections have always been fought by the two main political parties NPP and NDC on the basis of corruption. They both agree they are all corrupt but the one in opposition always claims they were less corrupt whiles in government than the other.
Apart from corruption one of the key issues of the 2016 general elections which were massively won by the NPP was fought on was the escalating youth and graduate unemployment which has given birth to a group by name Unemployed Graduate Association Of Ghana. Truthfully speaking the biggest threat to national security issues of Ghana is not corruption anymore but rising youth unemployment. If care is not properly taken and measures put in place to curb this menace one day the youth of this country will rise up against the leaders.
