The much-anticipated premiere of Marhills Productions’ latest movie titled ‘Bed of Roses’ last week at the Silverbird Cinema has been postponed to July 8, 2011 at the same venue.
The date for the movie’s other premieres in the regions remains unchanged. Reasons have not been given for the postponement as producer Michael Odika only hinted, “The Accra premiere has been shifted to July 8 at the same venue, Silverbird.”
Unconfirmed reports say the producer didn’t want to risk a competition with producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso who also premiered her ‘Adams Apples’ on the same day at the National Theatre.
Marhills Productions has a past record of producing movies like ‘Shakira’, ‘Trinity’, ‘Last Victory’, ‘Akurasi Burgers’, ‘Madam Moke’, ‘Royal Battle’, ‘Omanpenim Yiri’ in collaboration with Gupado Films.
‘Bed of Roses’ is a solo project and directed by Pascal Amanfo. It features the crème de la crème of the movie industry. Among them are Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Martha Ankomah, Yvonne Okoro, Luckie Lawson, Adjetey Annang aka Pusher, Ebi Bright, Joselyn Dumas and Helen Asante among others.
