John Dumelo gave his signature black suit a break, opting for some sort of a ‘metallic blue suit’. Prince David Osei, Kofi Adjorlolo, Maji Michel, Adjetey Anang and the others brought out their wardrobe’s best.

As predicted by GhanaCelebrities.Com, Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has beaten Majid Michel, Kofi Adu (Agya Koo) and James Gardiner to win the 2013 Ghana Movie Award’s ‘A Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role’.
In line with our prediction, Joselyn Dumas also pushed Lydia Forson, Roselyn Ngissah and others aside to take home the ‘Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role’ award.
Defiling our prediction, Jackie Appiah once again won the 2013 ‘A Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role’ award, sending Yvonne Okoro, Maame Serwaa, Sonia Ibrahim and Yvonne Nelson a message that; she is still the Queen of Ghana Movies.
Lil Win, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Ken Attoh and Leila Djansi took home deserving awards.

The nominations for the 4th edition of the prestigious Ghana Movie Awards to be held at the Accra International Conference Center on 30th December, 2013 have been released—and the competitive nature list shows that it’s definitely going to be extremely exciting for any of the winners.

Shockingly, Sonia Ibrahim (little sister of Juliet Ibrahim) has been nominated alongside Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Okoro, Maame Serwaa and Yvonne Nelson in the ‘PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE’ category. It will be interesting if Sonia Ibrahim is able to displace these known faces to win the award for this category.

As one of the first people to have subscribed to Sparrow Station which went LIVE two days ago, I got a free coupon via email yesterday to watch Sparrow Productions new short film ‘BIG FOR NOTHING’ which I just did…
Though I love the idea of short films, I just wish there was more to this story. I was so deep into it and then I heard ‘Big For Nothing’, followed by the credits… I was left disappointed—not because I didn’t like it but because I wanted more. You can call me Oliver Twist on this one…
When it comes to quality, there is no need to go on about it because we already know Sparrow Productions hallmark of quality—and this short film does not fall out of the line.
John Dumelo was his usual best and Jasmine’s delivery was also on point. I thought the language was a bit too direct but then I guess that is why it is rated 18, so I should have expected that.
Weak Point; John Dumelo’s hair was well trimmed but his ‘goat beard’ needed a little cut too. It made that part of his face a little tacky which I know the ladies would not appreciate.
Ghanaian actor-John Dumelo must have confused President of Women affairs for the President of the Republic of Ghana. Unless John Dumelo wants to tell us he does not have enough money to be able to provide the designer bags/dresses and unnecessary needs of some of his colleague movie stars, there are certainly several of them who would gladly jump unto his bed. Apart from the sex scenes which may be tasteful or tasteless depending on where you are coming from, we are told the story of the movie revolves around Esaba (being played by Joselyn Dumas) who is trying to get out of an abusive marriage to millionaire husband Marc (Jon Germain).
