Former Ghanaian President-John Dramani Mahama has come under fire–as Ghanaians both online and offline have been tearing into him what many claim as a greedy attempt to take with him into retirement a bungalow he stayed in while he was the president.

Ex-president John Mahama, in a letter dated December 19 and signed by his chief of staff, Julius Debrah, had requested that the property at No. 3 Prestige Link, Cantonments and its adjoining facilities, which he has been occupying for the past eight years, should be alloted to him as his retirement home.

Following complaints by Ghanaians and many others asking the new government not to hand over the residence, John Dramani Mahama has decided to withdraw his request.

However, the players have not been given any appearance fees, two weeks after the World Cup started—contrary to the GFA’s promise.
