First Deputy speaker of Parliament Joe Osei Owusu has been in the news in recent days after he made controversial comments in relation to the mandate security agencies should be given in the fight against galamsey.
Osei Owusu, taking a hard line stance, said that the security agencies should be given a shoot to kill mandate to serve as a deterrent to people to stay away from galamsey.
The Appointment’s Committee of Parliament has approved President’s Akufo-Addo’s nominee for the position of Independent Special Prosecutor.
