Former President Jerry Rawlings Sues Africawatch Magazine For Publishing Story Claiming He Has Parkinson's

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has sued the publishers of Africawatch magazines, General Media Strategies, it’s editor Steve Mallory, plus four other defendants for defamation after the magazine recently run a story claiming he has developed Parkinson’s.
The US based magazine back in May ran the shocking story about the medical condition of the President, claiming the former military leader had developed the debilitating condition which was gradually sapping his energy.

The leader of Ghana’s independence struggle, Kwame Nkrumah, was a skilled orator and visionary leader whose natural charisma was pretty substantial. To achieve what Nkrumah did in achieving Independence, against the dual opposition of the British and his less eager UGCC foes needed someone able to massively mobilise people just based on their presence.
Yet when looking at all the leaders Ghana has ever had, there’s one who would rival Nkrumah for charisma, and surpass him with flowery oratory – the one person who spent more time in office than any other as head of state of Ghana.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has reiterated that the economic burden on the average Ghanaian is too high, meaning Ghanaians are having a tough time making a go of it in the current climate.
The former President, the founder of the ruling NDC yet a fierce critic of it, noted on Starrfm Wednesday that the current government can boast of infrastructural achievements, but the economic climate is still too tough for majority of Ghanaians.

A pair of bold, in-your-face armed robbers who attempted a daylight robbery in Accra got their just desserts when a taxi driver nearby foiled their plot with a fascinating high speed chase on the streets of Cantonments.
The two robbers had shot and wounded a Koala shop attendant who had been sent to deposit some money in the bank so they could rob her. The pair were apparently tipped off by a worker in the shop.

And it is a truly profligate bit of spending, with no practical value- obviously over inflated to line up the pockets of some unscrupulous bastards in government. Even those involved in doing the job has shown how they and the entire country is being taken for a ride, considering they charged far far less than the figures government claim.
