Idris-Elba Idris Elba has this afternoon posted a cryptic tweet suggesting he could be the next James Bond. Days after reports that a producer of the franchise is tipping him to be 007, he posted: “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba”. Fans are taking it as a big hint that he could be about to take on the role when Daniel Craig leaves next year. There have been rumours linking Idris to the Bond role since 2014, which he’s neither confirmed nor denied.
Former Bond Girl, Halle Berry has stated it will be a disservice to Ian Fleming’s legacy to have a woman as James Bond. Halle Berry’s comment follows news that Jodie Whittaker would be playing the first female incarnation of The Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ and Chris Hemsworth also recently suggesting that Charlize Theron should play the first female James Bond.
Berry, who played Jinx opposite Pierce Brosnan in 2002’s ‘Die Another Day’, said; “I want [women] to be tough but I don’t know if Bond should be a woman.”
The chatter about Idris Elba being the next James Bond rarely dies down, no matter how much the actor insists that he isn’t interested in the role. So it was again that during an appearance on Good Morning America, Elba was once again hit with the question on whether he was next in line to play the iconic character.
Legendary British director Guy Hamilton, who has four Bond movies to his name throughout his career, has unfortunately passed away at the age of 93. He died on earlier this week at a hospital in Majorca, Spain, where he has been a long time resident, The Associated Press reports.
Daniel Craig and Léa Seydoux in 007 adventure-Spectre Daniel Craig mentioned last year that he wouldn’t be returning to the British Spy role as James Bond because he’s over it—and his contract has ended with no possible talks of extension. At the time, Daniel said he’d rather ‘slash his wrists’ than play James Bond again. He added that if he were to do another Bond movie, ‘it would only be for the money.’
The cool, cocky, and suave Idris Elba- a perfect Bond if you ask me- has been tipped nonstop as a perfect catch to take over the role of the super secret agent 007.
Although there are no official plans to make Elba the first black Bond, those stories just do not go away.
Daniel Craig’s Spectre, the recently released instalment in the James Bond franchise; has shot to the top of the North American box office, with a strong opening weekend.
The 24th film in the iconic franchise, Spectre’s strong opening was still not good enough to topple the opening weekend of the last instalment, 2012’s Skyfall.
Bond; James Bond is back—and if anyone thought Daniel Craig was the worst ever James Bond, “Spectre” will definitely change that notion.
It’s everything a typical James Bond film is known for—-with a bonus comedy well served by Q, (played by Ben Whishaw ), the slow and yet smart tech supremo at the Mi6 headquarters.
At the World Premiere held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Daniel Craig stated among other things that though he loves playing James Bond, he hates to watch himself on screen—but I am sure, for once, he would love to see himself on the big screen for the excellent role play as the quintessential British spy.
“Spectre” kicked off in Mexico City: Mr. Bond is introduced with a woman by his side, strolling through a crowd at the Day of the Dead—and as usual, it was not a coincidence that Bond showed up there.
Soon, the somewhat skeleton festival is turned into a magnificent air display—Bond was at work, punching a tough Assassin and the Helicopter’s pilot which beautifully pushed the aircraft into an unending loop.
At this stage, you wouldn’t really know who to be scared for—is Bond about the crash into the crowd of people running helter-scatter? Of course not, it’s 007 at his best. And that was just the introduction: superbly executed to get your full attention.
Daniel Craig who plays James Bond (007) is back in a new James Bond franchise movie-Spectre—starring his hot side chick, Naomie Harris.
It’s the 24th official James Bond movie—and as usual, it’s about the kicks, the cars and the interesting James Bond gadgets. We cannot forget the beautiful women Bond always come in contact with. Spectre, has it all…
The film features Christoph Waltz as the villainous Franz Oberhauser, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as Q.
