President John Dramani Mahama has emphatically stated that government has no plans to block social media on election day, contrary to what the IGP has publicly expressed.
The President, speaking at the party’s campaign launch in Cape Coast Sunday, said that the furore over the possible ban is uncalled for since it wasn’t going to happen.

Interior Minister Prosper Bani has come out to clarify government’s position on the oft talked about social media election day ban, saying that they have no intention of implementing anything like that.
Mr Bani, whose ministry is the overarching authority over the Ghana Police Service – says the IGP’s comments on the issue has been misinterpreted to mean a ban was imminent.
