The Ghana music industry is endowed diverse talents from different backgrounds who find inspiration from different sources.
Musicians like Sharifa, Amandzeba and other traditionally inclined artistes in the music industry have peculiar attributes to their names. May be, some of the things worth remembering about these famous and classic artistes are their background, culture and heritage.
The mentioned musicians make good use of cultural elements like tribal language, hometown, indigenous food, dance and cloths in their fields of artistry.
It is the rich display of their language and other culture that mostly distinct them from the western orientated musicians like D Black, Jay So, A J Nelson, Lighter, EL, etc.
Now let’s look at Guru, a contemporary artiste who has also benefited immensely from the understanding and usage of his background in his music.

Noise Over Artistes Billed For ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ 2012
Bola Ray and his Empire Entertainment team have created a very big brand out of nothing that is progressively and simultaneously bringing Ghana and Nigeria together to showcase Africa music to the world.
With just a year old and going into its second year, the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ musical show has been fully embraced and endorsed by both governments of the two countries.
Ghana and Nigeria already have a cordial relationship through football matches, diplomatic and bilateral arrangements, cultural exchanges and in other areas. Beyond these, both governments believe that, music is another way of bringing them more closer together.
Following the endorsement by the two governments, GhanaCelebrities.Com has learnt that, Empire’s office has received numerous calls on daily basis from producers and label owners in other parts of Africa, so as their artistes will get the opportunity to feature on the show, a platform they see spectacular for their artistes.
Despite the pressure mounting, it is the hope that, Bola will still remain focus and won’t defeat from the core aim of the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ brand, which is to assemble the very best of Ghana and Nigeria musicians on one platform.
The brand itself is a unifier with a sole aim of championing peace and co-existence between the two countries who have become role models to the rest on the continent.
After it’s launched, the general public received the news with mixed feelings concerning artistes billed to perform at the show slated for Saturday June 30 at the Dome of the Conference Centre. The organisers are fired up for the event and the buzz is in town.
The criteria for selection of artistes have also become a major concern for many and have since been discussed on various platforms with varied views. Some have asked why certain artistes didn’t make the cut to be on the show.
The maiden edition took place last year and it was seen as the biggest in-door event in Ghana by industry pundits. The show paraded D-Cryme, Ruff N Smooth, Efya, 4X4, Stay J, VIP, Kwaw Kese and Sarkodie, whiles the Naija brothers paraded J-Martins, 9ice, 2Face Idibia, and Naeto C.
Can Nigeria Redeem Itself Or Watch Ghana Do The Double Over Them?
The ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ concert is largely regarded as a musical showdown of sorts to establish supremacy between two countries whose musical trends have continuously influenced and rivaled each other in every way.
If indeed, the concert is a showdown, then last year’s edition was judged by many industry pundits as being a unanimous victory in favor of the Ghanaian artistes who excited the most with their performances on the night. This year therefore, the Naija acts are pledging to bring their best performances to bear on the night.
In typical Nigerian fashion, top Naija acts featuring on the bill have stated emphatically that come the night of 30th June, 2012, they will outclass their Ghanaian counterparts.
The Nigerian acts billed to perform include African hip-hop heavyweight, MI, his Chocolate city label mate and crooner Brymo whose hit single ‘Ara’ is one of the most heavily rotated songs on local radio and on the club scene. Another Nigerian artiste taking Africa by storm, Davido, who has yet to perform his hit club banger ‘Dami Duro’ on any stage in Ghana.
Also billed to take the stage in Ghana for the first time will be Don Jazzy’s leading lady and Nigeria’s finest female act of the moment, Tiwa Savage, who has three hit songs on heavy rotation in Ghana and Africa ’Kelekele’, ‘Love Me’ and ‘Oma Ga’.

Lydia Forson, Prince David Osei, Gifty Anti, Yvonne Okoro & Others Talk About Valentine…
Graphic Showbiz caught up with some of our celebs to find out their memorable Val’s day experience as well as how they intend to celebrate this year’s vals…
Check out what they said below…
Eazzy:
My best Valentine was with my first boyfriend in 2001. It was really exciting meeting my first love on Val’s day. He took me out to places – we went shopping, to see a movie and had dinner that night. I don’t think I have had a better Val’s day since then. I will be spending this year’s Val’s day with my mum since she is the only one in my life left in Ghana. I will take her out, buy her presents and make sure she really enjoys the day.
K.O.D:
I don’t need February 14 to express love to my loved one because I see it as any ordinary day. Valentine is a day people express love but I do it almost every day so I don’t see Val’s as any special day.
However, I have decided to cook for my wife and daughter on Val’s day and I am not expecting gifts from anybody.
Abdul Salam:
Seriously, I have no idea what Valentine is all about let alone celebrate it. But it will be a nice experience for the first time if someone takes me out on that day if i happen to be less busy.
