Odartey Lamptey recently finalised a protracted and bitter divorce from Gloria Appiah, his wife of 23 years after DNA tests proved that he was not the biological father of their three children that he has taken care of for 21 years.
Gloria, the ex-wife had gone to court seeking an equal share of Odartey Lamptey’s properties, including the Glow Lamp Football Academy, acquired while they were married. But the court presided over by Justice Cecilia Don-Chebe Agbevey denied her request and even gave her a 30-day ultimatum to vacate the seven-bedroom house at East Legon in which she lives. She was compensated with a four-bedroom house at Dome, as well as a car.
When they say some women are wicked–Gloria Appiah (formerly known as Gloria Odartey Lamptey) is one of such women.
After having 3 children behind Nii Odartey Lamptey and letting him take care of these kids without knowing he was not the father–Gloria took a case to court to get 50% of the former footballer’s asset, following their divorce.
Odartey Lamptey got to know the three kids he thought to have fathered with his wife were never his after DNA tests proved so. At the same time, it was alleged that Elikem Kumordzi was chopping Gloria and the footballer reportedly caught Elikem flirting with his wife on three different occasions in their matrimonial home.
You would think any woman who had brought such a shame would pack quietly and leave her marital home but Gloria didn’t do that. She actually went to court to try and take a lot of Odartey’s assets’ with her.
But an Accra High Court has today thrown out Gloria’s claim. Justice Cecilia Don-Chebe Agbevey completed quashed Gloria’s motion to have the ex-footballers assets equally divided.
