Over 15 shops in the vicinity of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle were razed down this morning by fire.

The incident occurred earlier around 9:30am due to the explosion of a transformer in the area near the former Obra Spot, Citifmonline reports.

Groupe Nduom (GN) founder Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has spoken out on the fire that gutted parts of his properties located near the immigration office in Accra for the first time with a post on Facebook.

ATV, BTA, parts of the GN Bank and the Gold Coast Fund Management all suffered from the outbreak, which contrary to most reports, actually did not affect the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel.
