July 18: Add Rawlings To NDC Campaign Or We’d Vote Skirt & Blouse – Group
About 5000 members of a group calling itself the Tamale NDC Founders have threatened to vote skirt and blouse in the upcoming December 7 general elections if the party’s founder Jerry Rawlings does not join the campaign trail. They are convinced that the ruling NDC would not have won the 2008 elections without the overwhelming support of former President Jerry Rawlings. Musah Hamza, Vice President of the group raised this concern at a news conference in Tamale.
July 18: NDC Plot Backfires
A press conference organised by government to supposedly expose the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in the ongoing judgment debt saga, turned out to clear him of any wrongdoing. Deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa had served notice of government’s preparedness to expose Nana Addo’s involvement in a massive judgment debt scandal which eventually turned out to be his advice as then Attorney-General and Minister of Justice for government to pay an amount of $1.1million to the Great Cape Company of Switzerland.
July 18: My Gov’t Will Not Fail Ghanaians – Nana Addo
The Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pleaded with Ghanaians to give him the mandate in this year’s election stating that he will fulfil all his promises if elected as President. Addressing supporters at Assin Fosu in the Central region on Monday, Nana Akufo-Addo promised that an NPP government under his leadership will allow the rule of law to thrive since it is the only way to ensure peace and equality in the country.
