Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, has been relieved of his duties at the organization.
Afriyie was sacked following a meeting of the Executive Committee of the GFA, who decided to push him out of his role.

The Ghana Football Association says its ready to pay whatever fine is laid on Ghana for captain Asamoah Gyan’s breach of Fifa regulations by wearing a customised captain’s armband.
Vice President George Afriyie, speaking to Happy Fm in Accra, said the incident is not a ‘big issue’ – and the FA are ready to pay to make it simply go away.

Following Asamoah Gyan’s shocking captain armband customisation, many have tried to defend him–saying, it was done for him by Puma in an anticipated celebration of his 50th goal for the Black Stars.
But the Vice President of Ghana Football Association and Chairman of the Black Stars Committee-George Afriyie has reportedly told Happy Fm that, the GFA was not even aware of what Gyan did by customising his captain armband.
“We were not aware of the customised armband. It is not the right thing to be done and unacceptable from Asamoah Gyan,” Afriyie told Happy FM.
