If this is not the peak of stupidity, then what else is?
In a 21st century Ghana, we are governed by leaders who opt for superstition instead of reason—and those who will vouch that faith is a better option compared to evidence.
Our failure to use our brains has clearly positioned as in a Bronze Age civilization. An era where people believed earthquakes were caused by the gods/God, eclipse happened because the gods/God was upset with human beings—and pathetically, floods were punishments from the gods/God.
Following the recent flood in Accra, the acting President of the Ga Traditional Council- Nii Dodoo Nsaki II is reported to have boldly said today at a Press Conference that, the flood and Goil blast which killed over 200 people were caused by the Dumsor Vigil which was arguably staged at a time when the ban on noise-making and drumming was in place at certain parts of Accra.
According to Nii Dodoo Nsaki II, because Yvonne Nelson and co violated the traditional rules and regulations which ban noise making at that time of the year—the gods unleashed the flood and fire as a punishment.
Not just that, Nii Dodoo Nsaki II has enough nonsense to prove that indeed the gods have been punishing Ghanaians for the annual violation of this absurd and infantile rule.
He said “the May 9 Accra Sports Stadium disaster which killed 127 people occurred when there was a ban on drumming and noise making. He noted that last year, the Bukom Banku and Ayitey Powers’ boxing event also happened when the ban was in place. This year, he said the ban was again violated by the #DumsorMustStop vigil, leading the disastrous consequences.”
This sounds plainly stupid…right? Yet, this grown man has the highest conviction that it’s true and his gods actually did all these things to innocent human beings. This is why believing in any kind of god/God is absolutely insane—you need to suspend your thinking faculty to be able to hold faith.
Let’ say what Nii Dodoo Nsaki II is true; why would anyone want to worship such useless pathetic gods who are not even smart enough to punish those who break their laws but also punish innocent people (including children) who did not take part in violating their laws? Does that not tell you these gods and their boss-God are all crazy?
Why didn’t the gods go after Yvonne Nelson, the gang leader?
Of course, Nii Dodoo Nsaki II is talking trash; same as the many pastors out there—Nii Dodoo Nsaki II is no different from any of the religious leaders. His belief is founded on faith, so is yours and that of the many credulous religious people.
If you think Nii Dodoo Nsaki II is insane and that he is talking bullocks, that is exactly how you sound when you talk about your God too. Nii Dodoo Nsaki II is just your mirror reflection.
