The police officer at the centre of the Midland Savings and Loans assault case has been granted bail by the Accra Circuit Court hearing the case.
Lance Corporal Frederick Amanor has been granted bail in the sum of Ghc 60,000 with two sureties to be justified.
Prophet Kumchacha has revealed that he once had an interaction with the police officer who assaulted a lady at Midlands Savings and Loans, Frederick Amanor.
According to the prophet, that happened after his altercation with Afia Schwarzenegger and the police officer was actually angry that Kumchacha was arguing and nearly fought with a woman.
Most Ghanaians watched the video of a woman being brutalized by a police officer for trying to withdraw her own money from a bank and felt a pang of pity for her mixed with revulsion for the police officer behaving like an animal.
But for people whose brains work in a confusing manner — like Counsellor Lutterodt and now Akua Donkor — they saw something else entirely.
There are so many lawyers in Ghana, especially those inclined towards human right issues — at least one of them should take over the case of this lady pro bono and help her put some real fear in Midland Savings and Loans.
Any company which employs such an animal to brutalize a paying customer should face the full rigours of civil law, not to mention the associated PR disaster.
