So this young lady- Francisca Oteng Mensah wins an election (primaries) and instead of Ghanaians congratulating her, haters (mostly oluus) are going about insinuating she won because her father is rich!! Really? Can anyone point out from amongst all these old politicians even one of them who is not rich and who does not pay to win power?

She sort for funding to finance her campaign – I don’t care whether her sponsor was her father, grandfather, uncle or future boyfriend (if she doesn’t have one already.. just kidding) at least we know the source of wealth of her sponsor.

How about presidential candidates the world round who take monies from all the dubious sources there are only to end up paying back by awarding all these shady contracts or scheming and paying strange – sometimes non-existing debts to their debtors?

The youngest parliamentarian aspirant in the political history of Ghana and would be the youngest member of parliament-Ms. Francisca Oteng Mensah, 22, has paid courtesy call to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)—after having beaten the incumbent MP of the Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary to become the eventual winner…

GhanaCelebrities.Com has been told that Francisca is a level 200 law student, studying at KNUST—and she is the daughter of Dr.Kwaku Oteng, CEO of Angel Group of companies—owner of Kumasi based Angel Fm.

4 days after her victory, she is hanging out with the top leaders of her party-Nana Akufo Addo and Dr. Bawumia…

As part of the campaign message, Francisca has said;

“I have constructed a party office and handed over documents to the party office. I will also build a training centre, scholarship schemes in Kwabre East…I will give my three months’ salary annually to the party which will cater for general welfare and to help the party during elections.”

Yesterday, Francisca Oteng-Mensah, a 22-year old young woman made headlines for beaten the incumbent MP of the Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary to become the eventual winner…

She is set to contest the next general elections to become a parliamentarian in the above mentioned constituency—and this has opened a worm hole of discussions on social media, with many people arguing that she is ‘inexperienced’ and too young to become a legislator.

Before, I jump to look at Francisca Oteng-Mensah’s case as nothing peculiar in the world of politics, let me mention that I prefer a 22 year-old inexperience young woman with enough reasoning power to be in a Ghanaian parliament—compared to that old empty legislator who recently said women who commit adultery should be stoned in contemporary Ghana.

The United States has several under 23 legislators—with Saira Blair, 18 years, being one of them. In 2014, Blair made headlines when the young Republican fresher at the West Virginia University won a seat in the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Francisca Oteng-Mensah, a 22-Year Old Lady is making headlines for beaten the incumbent MP of the Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary to become the eventual winner…

This means, the young woman will be contesting during the next general election to become the MP for that constituency. Her age makes this interesting and more also, the fact that she is a woman.

Francisca Oteng-Mensah obtained 321 votes while the incumbent MP-Kofi Frempong got 187 votes. Lawyer Osei-Poku obtained 202 and K Adjei- Sefa got 33 votes…
