Fancy Gadam might have beaten Medikal to the best new artiste award at the recent Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), but the pair have no qualms working with each other at all.
According to a post by Gadam on social media, he’s working on a banging new tune with Medikal, which drops later this week.
Nii Ayi Tagoe, a member of the VGMA Board, has revealed that the huge clamour for Medikal to win awards at the just ended VGMA’s did not translate into votes for the AMG Business star.
Speaking on Starr Fm’s Morning Zoo Saturday, Nii Ayi Tagoe said in the voting for the Best New Artiste of the Year, which Fancy Gadam won over Medikal, the latter received only 13 votes.
The 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was typical in many aspects – unforeseen hitches, a late start, and lots of controversies – controversies which encompassed not just the decision to award Joe Mettle the Artist of the Year award but also Fancy Gadam picking up the Best New Artiste of the Year over Medikal and others.
Gadam, a Tamale based artiste who’s massive in the entire three Northern Regions, has been making waves into the national market prior to winning the award, but most casual music lovers in the capital knew little about him, thus cried foul over him winning the award.

Fancy Gadam had a stiff competition from Medikal, Feli Nuna, Nii Funny, Eugy, Article Wan, Ebony and Rudebwoy Ranking to be crowned “VGMAs Best New Artiste Of The Year “.
Nominee for VGMA 2017 discovery of the year, Nii Funny, has described most of his fellow competitors as ‘borla goods’.
Nii Funny composed the popular ‘Yooko Ebreaki Mi’ song which landed him the nomination, but he claims his competitors do not even deserve to be nominated.
