“If you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people.”- House M.D.
Sometimes, you can easily spot from afar why some people are religious—they hate to make good use of their heads. Of course, religion promises redemption in exchange for the surrender of a person’s thinking faculty but it took me some time to realise that this means you will have to become blind to even non-complicated issues.
It wouldn’t take a toddler more than two minutes to tear down any erected argument that a certain God is great in a circumstance where nearly 200 people have inhumanely burnt to death—simply because, people claim a book belonging to this God (Bible) did not fully burn in the same fire.
Let me make this simple, perhaps that way, you would be able to spot the sort of absurd deductions people make because of religion and a belief in a God. “I do not believe in anything resembling a God, but would never profess omniscience with regard to such issues.” One thing I know for sure though, I can smell absurdity from thousand miles away.
Following the recent Flood/Goil Fire blast that unfortunately occurred in Accra, killing men, women and children—and burning down these people together with properties, a partially half burnt book (which resembles a Bible) started circulating on facebook (see above).
