2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Year’, EL, has lashed out at those critiquing the decision to hand him the award over Bisa Kdei and other artists, describing them as ‘haters’.
The BBNZ Live rapper, born Elorm Adablah, received five awards at the music award show Saturday night, including the ultimate honour- but the decision has sparked widespread debate over whether he deserved it ahead of an artiste like Bisa Kdei, who undoubtedly had the biggest hit of the year in ‘Mansa’.

PHOTOS From the Premiere of Yvonne Okoro's Movie 'Ghana Must Go'
Actress-Yvonne Okoto premiered her second self-produced movie-‘Ghana Must Go’ on January 2, in Accra—and though movie premieres have not been attracting large patronage in recent times, Yvonne Okoro’s new movie proved otherwise.
The movie premiere recorded a very large number of movie patrons than ever—to the extent that Silverbird officials had to stop selling tickets during the red carpet ceremony as there were no more spaces available in all the 6 cinema halls.
“Thanks to everyone that turned up for Ghana Must Go …it was so insane sold out premiere,” Yvonne said on social media the next day after receiving congratulatory messages from contented patrons.
Apart from Yvonne Okoro, Luckie Lawson, Lydia Forson, EL, Nkem Owoh and several showbiz personalities attended the premiere.

ALL THE PHOTOS FROM the #DumsorMustStop Vigil | Led By Actress-Yvonne Nelson & Others
Finally, finally, the much anticipated vigil of our time – #DumsorMustStop Vigil – has come to an end. As some Ghanaians already know, the purpose of this protest march from Legon to Tetteh Quarshie was to mount pressure on the sitting government to find a lasting solution to the erratic power supply and the current energy crisis the country is facing.
What started as a result of a single tweet from actress Yvonne Nelson ended up gaining massive support from some fellow celebrities and several Ghanaians who are also going through the same ‘dumsor’ ordeal.
Even though Yvonne Nelson and her team were expecting about 500 people to join them for the protest, thousands of irate Ghanaians turned out to support the cause. Interestingly, comedian David Oscar, who announced on his Facebook wall that it would be hypocritical of him to be part of the #DumsorMustStop campaign, was present at the venue.

Female Ghanaian artiste-Eazzy has released a video for her new single-Sometin Lost, featuring EL of Auntie Martha fame—and though you cannot downplay EL’s excellence on the song, the video doesn’t pull it that much for me.
Location wise, the visual doesnt bring anything interesting to the table and the ‘boogie’ from Eazzy could have been stepped up to create some genuine excitment…
The video is directed by Prince Dovlo.

EL Says He Doesn’t Focus On Awards!
Ghanaian rapper, singer and producer EL has expressed appreciation to his fans who voted for him in three categories at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), but has urged them not to be perturbed that he did not win any award out of the three.
In an exclusive with NEWS-ONE, EL said though he appreciated the nominations, the priority of his music career was not to win awards but to satisfy his fans all over the world and do the type of music that would be accepted in Ghana and on the international music scene.
EL was nominated for the categories of Best Collaboration of the Year for the song ‘You Go Kill Me’ with Sarkodie, Best New Artiste of the Year and Best Rapper of the Year.
During the awards last Saturday, when TV and radio presenters Jeremy and Jay Foli were called to present the award for the Best New Artiste of the Year, the crowd started chanting EL’s name in anticipation that it would go to him: The room however went somewhat silent when the award went to Stay Jay.
NEWS-ONE asked EL how he felt about that particular category.
“That moment was the best feeling for me when I heard the crowd chanting my name. They were chanting my name because they expected me to win and I was happy that my works have been accepted. But I took it in good faith because it was not my award and they gave it to who they wanted to give it to.
“I am not surprised about the whole thing because I have a way of accepting things and putting them in the best perspective. If it is a sign that I have to work harder, then that is what I must do,” EL explained.
Kobi Rana Overlooks Ghanaian Actors For Ramsey Nouah Jnr. & Defends It! He Says “He Doesn’t Act The Role, He Lives It”!
Listen To The Audio Interview Below…

Ghanaian writer and director Kobi Rana has defended why he overlooked Ghanaian actors for Nollywood legendary actor Ramsey Nouah Jnr. when casting for his latest blockbuster ‘Hotel Babylon; Where Clothes Are Naked’.
The movie with obviously many supporting characters or probably no supporting characters had the Nollywood actor as the lead. His performance in the movie was a top notch and may confirm why he was picked ahead of the many Ghanaian Actors.
After the screening, the young African movie maker was subjected to series of questions by journalists. One question which nearly caused a rift between the movie maker and some journalists was the issue concerning the casting of the leading character in the movie.

CHO Celebrates Ghana's Independence Day!
To celebrate Ghana’s Independence Day on the 6th of March, ChO will be honoring this great country, in style.
The Gold Coast achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1957, becoming the First sub-Saharan African nation to do so from European Colonialism. Ghana is now seen as a bastion and initiator of independence and democracy and, therefore, a role model for other African countries.
