Ghana is flushed with mediocrity in almost every sector you can think of, especially in governance and administration but also in showbiz — we have a lot of so-called stars who would be jokes if they existed in any other country’s showbiz industry.
No other place is this illustrated more than in the Ghanaian comedy scene. At least when it comes to acting and music we can compete a little with Nigerians even if they still kick our a$$ – but when it comes to comedy it’s not even a contest at all.
It looks like two of Ghana’s rival Dancehall musicians, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy teamed up for the first time to ruin Ghanaian comedian, DKB’s Christmas holidays.
Stonebwoy earlier on announced DKB as host for his 2018 Bhim Concert but dropped him for reasons best known to him and his management.
When news of his contract with Huawei was terminated, DKB took to Twitter to express his concern for Teacher Kwadwo.
He wrote: “We all jumped on teacher Kwadwo’s page to help him raise funds to purchase uniforms, shoes, etc. for deprived children, you didn’t support but you had time to dig 2 years into his page to find unsavory jokes to destroy him. You certainly hate deprived children & young hardworking men.”
Stonebwoy has revealed the host for his upcoming concert, ‘Stonebwoy Live in Concert’ and it seems one name has already been dropped from the bill.
Recently, DKB was announced as the host of the show despite his lifelong love for Shatta Wale.
Efia Odo has been going through emotional stress, making unnecessary comments on social media after her alleged fraud boyfriend Kwaku Reveloe dumped her for another lady, allegedly a ‘more decent’ and God-fearing woman.
Following this drama surrounding their separation, social media users have mocked Odo countless times. She has finally gotten herself someone, Ghanaian comedian DKB, who in one way or the other has shared his past breakup experience to motivate her.
Gone are the days when Ghanaians had the likes of John Bossompem Santo aka Bob Santo, Bishop Okala, Agya Koo, Nkomode and even Kwaku Sintim Misa aka KSM who were on their top form in the world of comedy.
Sadly, Ghanaian comedians, these days seem to be losing focus and are completely out of comic words, they don’t know how to put smiles on the faces of their audience, they are becoming completely empty as their fellow Nigerian Comedians keep riding on them, day in and day out.

In a video posted on the Instagram page of GhanaCelebrities.com @ghanacelebrity, the ‘struggling’ comedian was seen ‘hammering’ hard the bortos of one lady as if his life depended on it.
DKB was in his full element on Saturday during Shatta Wale’s ‘Reign’ album launch. Following Shatta Wale around like a lapdog, he grunted agreement at everything the high Gbee Naabu said and even added his own harsh words.
At a point when Shatta Wale was hitting back at Sarkodie for his ‘alumi’ comment in ‘My Advice‘, DKB chipped in, insulting the mothers of those who doubted Shatta Wale. He actually screamed WMT (Wo Maame Tw3) at them in Ga.
Immediately after Micheal Owusu Addo aka Sarkodie who is arguably the most decorated African rapper of all time released his smash hit and massive diss track titled “Advice” to Shatta Wale many Ghanaian celebrities took sides to congratulate Sarkodie for chastising Wale in such a powerful manner.
Almost every single Ghanaian celebrity on social media from actress and actresses to musicians seemingly supported Sarkodie’s song, even Shatta Wale’s darling boy Pope Skinny endorsed the song. Efya, Jasmine Baroudi, Yaa Pono, Joselyn Dumas, Captain Planet etc were all among the celebs who stood behind Sark against Wale.
Ghana’s undisputed king of comedy, Kweku Sintim Misa aka KSM, a while ago handed over his ‘crown’ to the self proclaimed king of comedy, Derrick Kobina Bonney (DKB).
DKB had proclaimed himself the best and KSM generously handed the title over to him.
Ghanaian comedians are by and large jokes who cannot make a room full of weed smokers laugh if their lives depended on it.
They get the occasional laughs at events but doing comedy that would make you laugh nonstop for an hour and a half is clearly not of their forte.

Comedian DKB has responded to the allegations levelled against him by the father of late 90’s bad gal Ebony Reigns.
The father of the late Ebony Reigns, Mr Opoku Kwarteng brought out a list which tends to suggest some musicians and industry players in Ghana took monies for their performance at the tribute concert organized in honour of his daughter. Mr Kwwrteng alleged that the said list was given to him by Bullet, former manager of the late reigning “Artiste of the Year”.
