The CEO of the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards has been adjudged the Best Event Organizer of the Year at the 3rd Women4Africa Awards held in London over the weekend. The awards are aimed at acknowledging and rewarding distinguished and astounding women around the world in various fields.
Women4africa is a UK based organization focused on celebrating and empowering Africa and its women. At this year’s awards, over 20 women across the world were recognized for their work. Dentaa beat competition from five other organizations who were nominated for the award. During her acceptance speech, Dentaa Amoateng stated:
“Being nominated was an achievement in itself, I never thought we would win, I am so pleased to pick up this award. The win shows that planning, dedication and effort does not go unrecognized. I would like to thank the GUBA team for all their support “.
Dentaa was also the recipient of the Inspirational African and African Women in Europe award in 2013.
A mum-of-three from London has been named as Europe’s most important African woman, it emerged yesterday.
Entrepreneur and TV personality Dentaa Amoateng beat stiff competition to receive the prestigious African Women in Europe (AWE) 2013 Award.
Dentaa, founder of the annual Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards and manager of former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan, was said to be a “diligent entrepreneur and visionary” and female “icon” to the British-African community for her work promoting Ghanaian achievement in the UK.
