Today is the 62nd anniversary of the Independence day of our dear nation Ghana. On the 6th of March, 1957, Dr Kwame Nkrumah declared our nation a newly independent nation, free from the shackles of colonialism, the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to achieve that impressive feat.
Yet despite being the first to achieve independence in Sub-Saharan Africa, and despite the shocking speed of development achieved by Nkrumah in his time in office, Ghana has remained stagnant throughout the years, and now many countries which attained Independence after us – both African and non African countries — have achieved a better quality of life than we have.
