The song released some 7 – 8 weeks ago is currently one of the biggest songs in Ghana at the moment and has been the talk for weeks on various social networking sites since it’s release. D-Black’s 'My Kinda Girl' Is The 10th Most Popular Song On The African Continent!

The song first made it onto Africa’s only Top 50 music chart at number 50. Making its debut 20 weeks ago, it has seen massive radio and television rotation and according to Afribiz Chart, the song – ‘My Kinda Girl’ is the 10th most popular song on the African continent.
Beginning the journey at number 50, it ascended abruptly to number 31. Then shot suddenly again to number 21. Spending about two to three weeks at that spot, it managed to make to number 18 and shortly afterwards, to number 16. Just a week before the 13th Annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, where D-Black got nominations for ‘Best Video of the Year’ and ‘Hip-Hop Song of the Year’ for the same song, ‘My Kinda Girl’ was the 13th most popular song in Africa.
When www.afribizcharts.com announced the release of the African Top 50 chart for week 22 on 23rd April, D-Black had made it to top 10 making it the first Ghanaian song to hit the Top 10 mark!
Other Ghanaian songs making an appearance on the charts include Manifest at number 23 with ‘Maka Maka’, Sarkodie at number 33 with ‘I’m in Love with You’ featuring Efya and Ruff and Smooth at number 37 with ‘Beautiful’.

This very creative piece by Ghanaian hiphop star D-Black is barely 2 weeks old since its release and yet is on the lips of every Tom, Dick and Harry with massive radio rotation and online presence. ‘VERA’ the title of the song tells the story of a female love interest who broke D-Black’s heart after he dedicated his life, time, energy, finances and love to her.
The song features upcoming hiphop act Joey B, who makes fun of D-Black for falling that hard as he cries on the song about his heartbreak. Prestigious Ghanaian based Events and Marketing firm Black Avenue Works  are all set to roll out the 10 – city nationwide music tour festival dubbed ‘THE BIG SIX TOUR’ in September this year under the theme ‘The Big Six for Peaceful, Free & Fair Elections’.
The Big Six were leaders of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) in the 1940’s and fought vigorously for the attainment of Ghanaian independence. The Big Six represent the historic struggle for Ghanaian Independence and are pictured on the front of Ghana cedi notes.
On this tour, six of Ghana’s most commercially successful hiphop & hiplife acts will represent the Big Six by performing live in concert in 10 selected cities in Ghana.
This nationwide tour would be geared towards preaching and promoting to the youth the essence of voting and ensuring a peaceful electoral process come December 2012’s Presidential elections via musical concerts and symposia.
Six artists have been slated to headline this soon to be historic music tour from September to November this year. These artists represent various clans and tribes, make music in various dialects but are all Ghanaian by blood and birth.
