The Ghana Music Industry can now boast of a BET award but before the acknowledgment, the Hip Life journey has been very torrid. It took the ingenuity of certain individuals to sacrifice and hold the fort for the new crop of Hip Lifers. This new crop of artistes without any doubt are benefiting greatly from the game. Most of them have acquired many properties and are well recognised. Would it be cool to say that, ‘monkey dey work, baboon dey chop’? As in the ‘monkeys’ have toiled and worked for years and the ‘baboons’ are now reaping the benefits. This is not to say that, Ghana’s triumph at BET was a fluke. Let me remind you. In this part of the world, we wait till the demise of a legend before we rave about them. Even though we may be privy to their exploits and achievements, we turn blind eye to them and wait till they are gone and then begin to sing good praises about them. The artistes who began the Hip Life movement several years ago were the once responsible for Ghana’s triumph at the BET. It’s glaring that their continued effort to keep the genre which was undermined, called names and tagged as ‘don’t have a future’ going despite the challenges they faced. Back in the Day, the music scene was such that, an artiste had to do a thorough research into whatever they want to sing about or lyrics they want to use in their songs. With a very good instrumentation, a classic song was churned out. Now what you need is a good beat and not unnecessarily good lyrics, then you can boast as a musician.

Bola Ray and his Empire Entertainment team have created a very big brand out of nothing that is progressively and simultaneously bringing Ghana and Nigeria together to showcase Africa music to the world. With just a year old and going into its second year, the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ musical show has been fully embraced and endorsed by both governments of the two countries. Ghana and Nigeria already have a cordial relationship through football matches, diplomatic and bilateral arrangements, cultural exchanges and in other areas. Beyond these, both governments believe that, music is another way of bringing them more closer together.
Following the endorsement by the two governments, GhanaCelebrities.Com has learnt that, Empire’s office has received numerous calls on daily basis from producers and label owners in other parts of Africa, so as their artistes will get the opportunity to feature on the show, a platform they see spectacular for their artistes. Despite the pressure mounting, it is the hope that, Bola will still remain focus and won’t defeat from the core aim of the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ brand, which is to assemble the very best of Ghana and Nigeria musicians on one platform. The brand itself is a unifier with a sole aim of championing peace and co-existence between the two countries who have become role models to the rest on the continent. After it’s launched, the general public received the news with mixed feelings concerning artistes billed to perform at the show slated for Saturday June 30 at the Dome of the Conference Centre. The organisers are fired up for the event and the buzz is in town. The criteria for selection of artistes have also become a major concern for many and have since been discussed on various platforms with varied views. Some have asked why certain artistes didn’t make the cut to be on the show. The maiden edition took place last year and it was seen as the biggest in-door event in Ghana by industry pundits. The show paraded D-Cryme, Ruff N Smooth, Efya, 4X4, Stay J, VIP, Kwaw Kese and Sarkodie, whiles the Naija brothers paraded J-Martins, 9ice, 2Face Idibia, and Naeto C.
The maiden edition of the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ musical concert was last year introduced to celebrate and unite musicians in Ghana and Nigeria. The brand is growing with exciting packages and it is swiftly becoming a force to reckon with. The idea was conceived and birthed by MC extraordinaire, Bola Ray, nurtured by his Empire Entertainment crew to bring the two West African countries together on one stage in the musical realm. The brand itself is a unifier with a sole aim of championing peace and co-existence between the two countries who have become role models to the rest on the continent. Ghana Meets Naija in its second season is perhaps the first and the biggest concert on the African continent where the very best of artistes with smashing hits from the two countries are assembled on one platform to entertain thousands of music enthusiasts.

Aside that, it’s a job that offers you the opportunity to jump from one event to the other and also work on people like musicians, actors, politicians and models. Make-up artists that work on such individuals are named celebrity make-up artists.
