It’s been three years since the tragic disaster of June 3rd and as usual, very little has been done to solve the problems that led to it and no-one has been held accountable for what happened.
However, it’s great that at least a civil suit is being brought and that at least might yield some punitive action against those involved.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings and MP for Ablekuma South and former Mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuye, had a little spat during the week which went viral online, with the former humiliating the latter with a very public snub.

The pair were both in Parliament for the final State of the Nation address by the outgoing John Dramani Mahama when Vanderpuye approached the founder of his party, but Rawlings’ body language made it quite clear he had no interest in conversing with him.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings publicly humiliated the mayor of Accra and incoming Ablekuma South MP, Alfred Oko Vanderpuye, earlier today (Thursday).

Both NDC bigwigs were at the Parliament house for the final State of the Nation Address of the outgoing President when the incident which has since gone viral on social media occurred.

Accra mayor Alfred Oko Vanderpuye has hit back at critics of his who claim he’s playing politics in recent photos showing him braiding the hair and cooking with his constituents.
Vanderpuye says he has the ability to use his hands to do so many things because he was trained well as a child by his parent, making him a great braider of hair and cook.

Recently the mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuye, was pictured portraying himself as a real ‘man of the people’.
Vanderpuye, who’s contesting for the Ablekuma South Parliamentary seat on the NDC ticket, was shown braiding people’s hair and ‘driving’ their banku in a real show of how ‘down to earth’ he’s supposed to be.

That didn’t take long for a reply to arrive. GC posted just over a half hour ago about a photo going round showing Accra Mayor Alfred Oko Vanderpuye, currently standing for Parliament, braiding people’s hair and ‘driving’ banku just to gain some street cred and pick up votes.
Mingling with the ‘common people’ during election time to create the illusion of being ‘one of them’ is one of the oldest tricks in the politician’s playbook, and despite everybody knowing about it, fall for it anyway.
