Yvonne Nelson Actress Yvonne Nelson has disclosed in an interview that producer Abdul Salam Mumuni expressed conviction about her abilities from the very onset of her career. Speaking to MzGee on the White Carpet show on the Joy News Channel, the Heels and Sneakers producer told the host; “I always say this Abdul Salam Mumuni saw me somewhere and said hey, I want to talk to this girl, I want to cast you in my movie Princess Tyra and he did nobody knew me then but he believed in me “.
Lydia Forson Graphic Showbiz caught up with some of our celebs to find out their memorable Val’s day experience as well as how they intend to celebrate this year’s vals… Check out what they said below… Eazzy: My best Valentine was with my first boyfriend in 2001. It was really exciting meeting my first love on Val’s day. He took me out to places – we went shopping, to see a movie and had dinner that night. I don’t think I have had a better Val’s day since then. I will be spending this year’s Val’s day with my mum since she is the only one in my life left in Ghana. I will take her out, buy her presents and make sure she really enjoys the day. K.O.D: I don’t need February 14 to express love to my loved one because I see it as any ordinary day. Valentine is a day people express love but I do it almost every day so I don’t see Val’s as any special day. However, I have decided to cook for my wife and daughter on Val’s day and I am not expecting gifts from anybody. Abdul Salam: Seriously, I have no idea what Valentine is all about let alone celebrate it. But it will be a nice experience for the first time if someone takes me out on that day if i happen to be less busy.
These photos were taken when the two Yvonnes’ recently made a trip to Liberia alongside Jackie Appiah, Abdul Salam and others…As one continues to suffer a lil in the dark as a result of FIPAG’s so called side-lining/ban, the other has risen to fame so quickly…Oh and even, she sadly fired her manager who helped … Read more
We have read and heard a lot from various industry stakeholders on the controversial ban which was imposed on Actress Yvonne Nelson nearly a year ago. As at now, the state of this ban (whether it is still in force or not) cannot be clearly ascertained.
Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), the industry machinery behind the ban has strongly insisted that the ban is still in force whiles Abdul Salam-the person Yvonne Nelson was said to have grossly subjected to contempt is saying he has forgiven her. Though Salam’s recent statements to a greater extent suggest that the ban has been lifted, we are still kept in the dark by FIPAG.
Somewhere last week, I had a long separate chit chats via phone with Actress Juliet Ibrahim and Mr Fred Numah (Founder/CEO of Ghana Movie Awards) when they were in France for the Cannes Film Festival.
During our conversation, Juliet Ibrahim who could not believe a false story that was published on our celebrities having been on a red carpet at Cannes expressed her dissatisfaction and shock about the entire Ghanaian- Cannes visit arrangement.
From what I gathered from my convo with Juliet Ibrahim as to what was really going on at Cannes as far as our celebrities were concerned , it seemed our stars namely Nadia Buari, Juliet Ibrahim, Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michel, John Dumelo and others who were sponsored by the Ghana Movie Awards to the film festival had nothing scheduled for them out there.
They cheaply jumped on planes and went there to walk about as tourists or persons who had come to see the Hollywood stars… Even tourists have aims for visiting places, our celebrities were purely aimless.
It was therefore a big shock to Juliet Ibrahim to have read that, some Ghanaian celebrities out there in Cannes had graced the red carpet. Apart from the issue of red carpet, Juliet Ibrahim also pointed out that, she was not pleased with the way things were arranged for them. There was no hotel rooms reserved for them and they did not have any planned means of transport. Our stars jumped in and out of trains and taxis as if they were ‘I and I’…

I cannot give the full list of those who made it to Cannes on the ticket of Ghana Movie Awards but during a chit-chat with the founder of the Awards, Mr Fred … Read more
