Weekly Discussion: Let’s Get Talking: Are Black People Our Own Enemies?
The most iniquitous thing among humanity is self destruction and self hatred. Being your own enemy sounds impossible but it is wilfully in existence among human beings.
When we talk about being your own enemy, it encompasses hating your own kind and this is very widespread among black people. Most black people, either from different nations or same nation do not get on at all.
Let us look at our immediate social surroundings, work places, schools and universities as well as our communities, the very people actively pulling black people down the ladder of success is our own people. (I call this inner racial hatred).

Hollywood, Here They Come…Oops, Are They Fit Enough?
It is not unusual to hear a Ghanaian actor or actress saying, I desire to step into Hollywood whenever questioned about what he or she wants to achieve within the movie industry.
It seems being Hollywood is the measuring rod used to ascertain the successfulness of an actor or an actress in the Ghanaian movie industry. What happens to our own Ghallywood then if all the best ones eventually make it to their dream land? Whether this is a good or bad concept, I’m not going to go into all that and will leave that for your own minds.
I have compiled my little list of potential Ghanaian actors and actresses who fall within the top ranking personalities and are actively targeting the ‘land of Milk and Honey’ – Hollywood.

President Of Nigeria Actors Guild, Segun Arinze Says The Nigerian Movie Industry Is Benefiting Immensely From Ghana.
When it surfaced that the Ghanaian Movie Industry had slammed a whopping $1000 levy on Nigerian Actors seeking to work in Ghana so as to protect the interest of local Actors, various Nigerian writers, bloggers and commentators resulted to dirty little politics by failing to see any reason why Ghana could enforce any sort of levy targeting Nigerian Actors(invaders).
Some even went to the extent to articulate that, Ghanaians are very ungrateful and after years of help, support and nurturing by the Nigerian Movie industry, how dare Ghanaians throw such a levy out.
The worse of these dirty politics was the disrespect that poured out of the lips of the many Nigerian online commentators and bloggers who said among other things that, the Ghanaian movie industry has nothing to offer Nigerians, has never helped the Nigerian industry and as such a levy slammed on Nigerians will be a detriment to the “parasiting” Ghanaians themselves. (That really did hurt…)
Anyway, in a recent interview published by Nigeriafilms.Com, the president of Nigeria Actors Guild (Segun Arinze) emphatically stated that “Lately, a lot of Nigerians have been flooding Ghana to produce their movies and over there, you are given value for money”. This was his answer to the question, why are Ghanaians imposing a levy on Nigerians.
Motivational Message Of The Week: Laying A Firm Foundation To Achieve Success
“A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him”. David Brinkley
……………………………………………………………………………………………………..
The diversity of mankind in our thoughts, attitude and way of life is what define us as unique individuals. However, no matter how distant our ideas and mindset about life seem to be from each other, there is always that common target point of “achieving success” in whatever direction we tread on in life.
We may seem to be walking in different paths of ambition and putting up unequal structures aimed at guiding us on these paths, yet, we are all heading towards a common goal of attaining “Success”.
The very fact that everyone one of us is working so hard towards a common focal point in life depicts the important and highly combustible nature of the point we are gravitating towards. Yes, the closer you get to success, the more difficult, stormy and fiery the path becomes.
The ability of a person to keep motivated, focus and hold up his path towards success is enshrined in his attitude, structures and the foundations laid to combat the turbulent path of success.
The foundation on which your success path rest therefore becomes the most crucial ingredient of fetching success, in fact, a determinant of whether you can resist the chaotic trail of attaining success or not.
Everyone would fairly expect that the important nature of the foundation we lay on our success path means we should have control and be presented with the opportunity to pick up the bricks we use for this very foundation so we can grab the strongest bricks and build up a sturdy foundation against “on-way” obstacles.
